I was looking through one of my network's offers the other day and saw a product I have never heard of before. Started my search campaigns and did alright, but competition was picking up, so I started looking around at other people's landing page to see what they were doing. Did a search and realized that the engines only hundreds of pages indexed for my main keywords that were now costing me $.40 a click.

I went and set up a free blogger and made 3 posts about the product, put up a couple banners and put a "go here to buy this" link at the bottom of each post. Went and made about 10 comments on related blogs with a link back to mine. Then I went to pingoat and pinged it. This all took about an hour. I am now getting over 200 uniques a day to my blog and have converted a few of them.

I treated each post like it is a landing page to work on my sales skills and now every day I take 10 minutes to make a new post/landing page. So, I've spent probably a total of 2 hours on this and made around $100 from it without spending a dime. But the big thing for me is that I am working on my landing page skills and realizing what works and what doesn't.

I don't know if this will help anyone or not, but thought it was cool that it works. 1 week, 2 hours invested, $0 invested= $100 and traffic is growing every day.

Good tip, and I'm actually working on something similar for ppc campaigns that I don't see converting very well. I figure if I have a large keyword list, I might as well put it to use.

One question though, is how long from when you created the blogger blog did it take for you to start seeing significant traffic?

I started seeing traffic in like 2 days after my ping and comment spam.... I mean nice relevant comments.

Great advice and method. You've got me curious though, traffic coming from your links or actual SE generated visitors? Most of the large SE's take at least 2 weeks to get you spidered.

Obviously, once you're spidered those link-backs will help get into the top results for the keywords since you're working with a pretty unique or new product (from what you said.)

It's hard to find offers on the large networks that haven't already been promoted widely.

99% is SE traffic. I don't know if it was the comments I made or the pinging or the combination that worked. But it worked pretty good.

It is hard to find something that would work like this, but keep an eye on the new offers to get the jump on everyone.

Nice JDog. Nice. I like this idea. Blogs as landing page is something I've been thinking about and researching since day one. I got a little ahead of myself and started looking into the automation thing. Then I found out about the Captcha shite. But looks like you don't have to worry about that, since you're a human and all.

Oh, man. Maybe content is king after all. :crap:

Curious, when you say you made $100. Is this a CPA thing you're promoting or affiliate. Obviously I'm not asking WHAT the specific offer is. Guess I'm curious about the conversion rate... And have you thought about or do you have adsense on your blogger blog?

p.s. thanks for the PM response. I'm testing some ebay arbi now. I'll let you know how it goes.

It is a cpa offer. I get paid if they buy it. I'll figure out the conversion rate tonight. No adsense yet, because I want them to buy through my link, not someone elses.

I've been using blogs to try to sell aff products for a while with limited success, but that's probably more because I haven't updated them that often. Curious if you're taking a hard sales approach, a "product review" approach, or a more typical blog-like "check out this new product" approach?

Kind of a mixture of hard sales and check out this new product. The hard sales has worked better, but I don't have a lot of comparison information yet.

i have tried blog and ping but no luck with it...

can you explain more on it?

I knew so little about WH :)

Jdog unless I'm wrong you are doing nothing else than blogging and putting links to CPA offers in your blog posts.

Did you change the design of your blog to look more like "custom landing page" or did you live it to look like a normal blog?

2 weeks? get some good links and you can get indexed alot faster than that for the major se's

How did you find relevant blogs for comment posting?
Just do a search on Blogger or Wordpress & see if you find another blog about the same subject as yours!? Any tips?? Thanks. :)
