I've tried that to no avail. I've known people who have said it works in the short-term, though, so there's probably some amount of merit there.

I think the type of bay leaf may matter. I used the really fragrant and expensive ones. They didn't have a faded green color. I simmered the water for about 12 hours. I haven't seen a cucaracha since, which has been over 3 years. I also put some bay leaves in my kitchen cabinets and near the fridge.

I love the way how threads on WF go aside and start living their own life in totally different topic.

Interesting. I have a 6 foot high bay leaf bush in my garden so I may have to give this a try. I get roaches here, but not from inside the place - they come in under the doors, through the windows, down the chimney, etc.

Out of the blue, one day I had cockroaches. I tried roach motels, boric acid, etc. Nothing worked. Then I read about bay leaves and cockroaches online. It was amazing. All of them were gone in one day. I didn't see any dying cockroaches or any baby ones after that day. I think they hate the smell and have to pack up and leave. You don't have to worry about poisons and it makes your place sorta smell nice. Haha.

I would simmer the bay leaves and then put leaves near your doors and windows, etc. I don't think you need to use many in those places. Maybe one here or there.

Only peasants deal with cockroaches.

The only thing I can add is that whatever you decide, be wary of using aviation transport there at the moment - not a great recent record let's face it.

edit: I've just noticed the con-incidence of this statement / my sig.

Turn the roaches into roboroaches and use them to clean out the mold.

Roaches? Fumigate.

Depends if the roaches are babies or adults. If they're adults, it's probably coming from the outside somewhere. If the trash collection area / bin is close to your place, see what you can do to move it down the street a bit.

If they're babies, you're pretty much royally fucked, and might as well move to a new place. Either that, or you're taking a vacation for a few days while they fumigate like crazy.

Just have to decide who is most deserving.

Oh and wake up, bay leaves? Do I also serving a nice Pinot Grigio with that? Maybe some espresso afterwards? Boric acid is The Shit for killing roaches. Period.

Boric acid didn't work for me. The roaches were gone the same day I used the bay leaves. I don't think boric acid works that fast. Also, the roaches have to eat the boric acid. Simmering bay leaves in water permeates the entire house/apartment. It's like a natural fumigant.

So no time for espresso your saying?
