5 star threads

I'm noticing nearly all the BST threads have a five star rating, even ones that haven't had any comments.

Do the thread ratings in the BST section actually mean anything?

As far as I'm concerned every thread in BST is a five star thread.

People can 5 star their own threads. That's what happening. But probably legit if you see many stars

It only takes one rating to get a 1-star or a 5-star, so you see the thread starter giving themselves a 5-star rating, or perhaps a competitor stops by and gives a 1-star. Even the "likes" would be more useful than the rating stars. But it's a much better strategy to look at the reviews and comments in the thread and basically ignore the ratings.
