30 day challenge

What I meant was do you think it would be worth it for someone new to the business to go through with?

It's not a scam, since it's free, but it's very basic. I meet a lot of people who are interested in doing internet marketing when I tell them what I do for a living and I always suggest the 30 Day Challenge to them, because it's a great place to start.

I actually wrote a really long three part series about it if you want to read what I have to say. I talk a lot of shit about it, but I still think you can get some good things out of the challenge

I'm wondering what the incentive is for them to be doing all of this, because reading their transparency post about where/how they are making money from the challenge, it really doesn't seem like they could be pulling in that much. Why introduce a ton of new potential competitors to the space that they're currently in?

If someone's completely new to the world of IM, I would recommend the 30 day challenge to them. Like someone else said, it is very basic, but if you're completely new, you're going to need to know the basics first.

I've been wondering that too. My two guesses are affiliate links and other services. For example, after the 30 day challenge, there's the 30 day challenge plus (at least there was last year) that you have pay for. I'm also sure that some of the people end up buying the products once the trials are over (i.e. Market Samurai).

But when it comes to competitors, I don't think they worry too much about it. The internet is big enough for everyone and more importantly, I'm pretty sure the people that succeed and actually go on to become a full or part time IMer are very few.

Plus it has made him internationally known. Beat the drum and beat it consistently.

Seriously?!? Maybe it's the 6 figure mailing list they get from it where they bombard you with offers. Maybe it's all the affiliate links involved in the whole thing. Or maybe from the few "success" stories they have where they JV (Jason Moffat, Michelle Macphearson).

That being said, yeah if your a complete n00b it's a decent intro to the AM/IM world. Problem is most of those n00bs take what is taught as gospel.

Response to the 30 day Challenge

From what I can see, the 30 day challenge seems to know what they are talking about. However, you can move much faster if you look around on the Internet for the specific information that you need to start. For example, the first thing you should always do is look for a niche. Well, if you go into Google and type in "finding a niche .pdf" ( make sure you put a .pdf after it) then a whole slew of free ebooks comes up that you can save and learn from. Click on this link to see results: Google's niche results I found a lot of great stuff like that , some of it awesome some of it not. I have been doing IM for the last 10 years as a hobby and you can make some money, but there is WORK. (Mostly writing)
The best advice for people building a website or blogging for dollars is that really good high-quality content is paramount. People are getting sophisticated and they want to get get high quality information that is written well and gets to the point. You also need to know how to organize your content and site in a manner that leads to a sale. When I write I just don't turn out a ton of poor quality crap. I write great content for my blog and keep the website that I am connected to as simple as I can make it. Never confuse a fancy - schmancy website design with progress. Make the site very simple and then offer better quality content than everyone in your niche. You may not make any money, but you will begin to perfect a skill that is going to become very important on the Internet over the next couple of years and that is content that is so good and concise that you will become an authority in your niche. Heck, you might open up other avenues of making money both on and off the Internet.

God Bless and I hope you have great success!
