Getting pretty tired of all the "But a civilian can't possibly defend themselves with a firearm, leave that to a police officer!" people out there.

In the US, more than once a day firearms are used by every day people to defend themselves, their property and the ones they love from criminals. The vast majority of these never make the newspaper, let alone national news. So every week I'm going to compile a list of these cases and post them.

Yeah, this is mine. I'm combining my money/libertarian/firearm rants all into one thing. I've got a ton of people who enjoy my rants/research but don't have a place to put them all in a cohesive manner...........Till now.

I'm curious, what's going to be the best way to opt-in people to getting updates when I release my weekly self-defense shooting data?

I could do a facebook page w/ likes that then feeds, but the site will have more content than just one subject. I could go with email, but that requires a little more effort for a user instead of just liking us on facebook (But I can then send only updates they want).
 
Can someone clarify for me if it would be OK to use a gun to defend my sites against people who try to rob them of rankings by frequent changes to algorithm?

I Like your site. This is a problem that is only getting worse as time goes by. I would really hate to have to shoot/kill some one. However my family means more to me than anyone else. I have several weapons and am training my 12 year old son in the proper use of a weapon. Urging his mother to get a CCW permit as well, which is pretty easy to get in Alabama.

However the last couple of posts are firmly aimed at advocating guns for self defense... But as a libertarian, it is odd that you never mention the original, bigger, & more important reason for people to own guns:

How about a post advocating guns to prevent democide?

The problem I see is that the 'average joe' can't fathom the US government killing innocent people.

The average joe doesn't realize that thousands of recorded instances happen a year where someone defends themselves with a firearm. So, my goal is to wake up the average joe. As time goes on, then I can present to them the real issues at hand.

I have been VERY effective at converting people via facebook posting this same stuff. Dozens of people over to the cause of freedom & liberty, however I haven't had a place to put the resources in one central place so that other people can use my research & stories to win others. Then, those they win over can also be worked on with my information & series.
 
Since lots of "average joes" like their military and are likely to give credence to thoughts expressed by soldiers, maybe get this guy to pen a guest post...

He's getting some attention on CNN right now for telling Feinstein to kiss his ass regarding registering his firearms (story here). His letter to Feinstein has gone viral. A guest post from the guy might bring folks to your blog.

Great site. After all the help I have got from you, the least I can do is help spread the word.

Was just thinking someone needs to build a more soft and feminine version. A site that talks only about women protecting their children or themselves.

I'm sure there have been quite a few attempted rapes stopped thanks to a firearm. That might make a powerful site if done right.

Force these liberal gun control nuts to explain why they "support rape". Use their childish tactics right back on them.
