Slightly off-topic:

Is there any hope of tweaking the forum to auto-close threads after a specific period of time elapses (e.g. 3 months) without activity? If so, any hope of using the same tweak on polls?

I notice a lot of spam hits old threads, bumping them to the top. Longtime members reply to the threads. Even when the spammers are erased, the threads remain alive.
 
They used to autolock after 3 months. The spammers are going after the long threads probably because of the number of pageviews.

Yep. I remember.

At some point, however, I noticed the closures began to seem sporadic. Some threads were closed after three months; some remained open. I couldn't figure out a pattern, and chalked it up to a break somewhere.

It would be nice to go back to closing everything after three months. (Of course, it'd be nice to disallow polls, too.)
