Canada... eh!
What quotes do you derive an ambitious drive from? I believe that a successful day is based on the simplest thing - having the right set of thoughts flowing in your mind. I read and re-read these quotes innumerable times since I began AM. I also keep a little diary to mark my milestones, no matter how small and mundane when you look back on them they put a smile on my face.

The first line is a deadline I set for myself to quit my job, I always feel a bit queasy and under pressure when I see it. Fear is a powerful motivator. Here's page 1 of 19 from my quotes file..

OCT 27 2009 - Work hard and GTFO.

The future stems from every present thought.

If you’re not getting better, you’re getting worse.

"The things that matter most must never be at the mercy of the things that matter least. "

Work hard now so you can have the best for yourself later!

Never lose sight of your goals and they will never lose sight of you

The worst thing one can do is not to try, to be aware of what one wants and not give in to it, to spend years in silent hurt wondering if something could have materialized - never knowing.

Concentrate all your thoughts on
the task at hand. The sun's rays do not
burn until brought to a focus.
-ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL

We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret or disappointment.

Work harder on yourself than you do on your job.

You can get any fucking thing you want in life. If you’re willing to figure out how to get it, and you’re willing to work hard, kick ass, and pay the price. Everything else is bullshit. What’s stopping you? Nothing but yourself. (picked this up on WF, don't remember who wrote it)

This day is more important than any other day, for in this very moment you decide your fate, the future while undetermined rests on what you do today.

"Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune"

Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines, practiced every day.

Winners don't quit and quitters don't win

It doesn't matter how long it takes to get there, as long as you don't stop

A dream not worked on will always be just that.

Doesn't look as pretty as my properly formated word doc, but the content is there. Now, what quotes get you kicking in the morning?

“Advertising is a racket, like the movies and the brokerage business. You cannot be honest without admitting that its constructive contribution to humanity is exactly minus zero.” -F. Scott Fitzgerald

WF is a great place to get motivation, you see the winners, the losers and everything in between. Once you're part of something it's harder to get out of it. The amount of things I learned on this forum is almost ridiculous, it's been a constant source of many positive things. I have a slightly bad habit of checking it more than I should though.

This is going to sound stupid, but lately I've been getting my motivation from my 9 month old.

The boy is constantly falling, slipping, wiping out and does that stop him? Nope, he just gets up and goes at it again and he may have even learned how to fall a little more softly in the process. Another thing he does is he sees something across the room, puts his head down (he's still crawling) and books it across the room in record time. It always makes me a little nervous because he's not really looking ahead (he's just barreling down on that object of desire.) But most of the time he gets there without smacking into any walls and if he does he just kinda looks around, reassess the situation, finds the object again and barrels down on it until he gets there.

So if a 9 month old never gets too frustrated to quit, why the hell would I?

Why wait until tomorrow, when you can get it done today!

One key element of success is simply showing up.

Discipline weighs an ounce, regret weights a ton.

And of course growing up in the 90's, a Micheal Jordan commercial is always a good kick in the ass:

"You were born a winner, you were the fastest sperm"

Can't wait to use this on the next fat person that bothers me - of course I'll probably remove the "winner" part, change the inflection and add a question mark.

If you think I'll sit around as the world goes by
You're thinkin' like a fool 'cause it's a case of do or die
Out there is a fortune waitin' to be had
You think I'll let it go your mad

You've got another thing comin'

Haha, this is great! My girlfriends family have a couple of new children knocking about - cannot believe how committed to escaping, climbing and generally causing havoc they are! Crazy stuff.
