In my opinion its guilt. I'm in college and that is what all the liberal ass teachers talk about. How we had to step on so many people's feet to get where we are. I mean I remember at the end of last semester we were going on about how horrible we were for all the things we have done in the past 50 years. My thought is, if you don't like it here, please move the fuck out. Nobody is stopping you.

I live in phoenix and all of this is much more of a big deal for people outside of this state.

Legalize marijuana and create a REAL guest worker program that allows for mexican migrant workers to come and go when they are contracted for work.
I grew up knowing lots of illegals in los angeles and the majority of them want nothing to do with living here permanently.
That's why they make their areas resemble there homelands. They cant go back and forth for the work provided by the ag and service industry's.
A realistic approach to answering the issues that are creating the problem is the way to fix this.
I support the concept of sb 1070 and I'm as mexican as they come. But this law is being pushed and supported by racist people plain and simple.
You have to admit a majority of the people so vocal in support are racists.
All this screaming and bitching from both sides is making it impossible to address the issues in a realistic way.
American Ag Industry and a whole shitload of industries for that matter need immigrant labor to stay economically viable.
We dont need euro or asian immigrants in this country any more then we need drug cartels running the drug industry.
We need the "brownies" down south to do the jobs that they have been trained to do.
I mean its kind of hard for you guys to bitch and moan about this and meanwhile you all outsource the majority of your work to india/pakistan/phillipines etc....
If you really have such a stick up your ass about immigrants and there effect on the economy stop sending your work overseas.

If a law like this comes into affect the illegals are going to start all caring fake documents. This is going to mean the police are going to start arresting people based on the suspicion the documents are fake.

Racist or not, even the idea of SB1070 being enforced has already caused a huge amount of illegals to leave. I used to be able to go to any Home Depot in Phoenix, any day of the week, and have my choice of a dozen or more illegals to hire. Now, there are a few here and there but its nothing compared to what it was a few months ago.
I'm not saying it's the only solution, I'm also not saying it's the best solution IMHO. However vs the other solutions it seems almost a fair middle ground. It seems like a reasonable, realistic solution.
You see there is massive radical fighting on both ends of the spectrum, which develops catch 22's. There are going to be huge amounts of people that are pissed off either way you go on the issue. I'm just saying a middle ground type approach may actually work.
We would actually be able to track and tax said illegals, without them actually being full on American citizens. I never said anything about an oath, they're here illegally the way it is, and they haven't taken an oath.
One of the counters I hear to kicking them out, is it takes sooooo long to become a US citizen. Under the middle ground we would be creating a win / win situation. We allow them to stay and be sort of a probationary citizen while they work twords the goal of being a US citizen like any other immigrant.
I'm really not sure what is so ridiculousness about such a solution, other than you're one of the extreme views in either direction.
