Well maybe it doesn't matter what it is I just want to keep myself away from forums and other sites i waste so much time on without getting banned. Maybe just block certain websites from a certain time during my work hours. anyone know of some free software or something i can do to on my own to do this?

Im wasting way to much time here and other IM forums and its actually starting to effect how I approach my work. I should be doing what I think works but im starting to read into a lot of crap and almost feel like one of those noobies who follow around gurus looking for info on the next big thing when most of the info is nothing but table scraps from last nights meal.

and does anyone got any other tips on whats helped you guys stay focused? Not health wise but tips on how you stay organized and focused while your working on the computer?

Thanks for the heads up re: leechblock.
I think this will help tame my lack of focus.

Only 12 minutes of wickedfire left on the timer. :(

Don't you have The Voice?

I have it. And a lot of guys who take their shit seriously have it.

See, The Voice is something that begins to, mild and calm at first, tell you "You should be working" as you surf around. It gets louder after awhile, to the point where it turns into pure guilt and won't give you a moment's peace.

Reward yourself for 5 min breaks every so often as you make minor accomplishments throughout the day, but don't lose your focus.

We see these messages all the time on here, and we all ultimately agree, if you have the time to be reading forums etc during the day you obviously don't have enough to do, and that's the problem right there. AM is 24/7 for most.

Please don't give the sob story about not enough money either - you can easily drum up dozens and dozens of FB campaigns with small spends and keep busy. So why aren't you?

Reactions: Uptime
I fuck around on WF for like a hour till i find a new little gem than i can use on one of my campaigns, which spurs me into a frenzy of work for like 4 hours straight...

Rinse, repeat.

OpenDNS, Leechblock, hosts file (doesn't usually work), Firefox Window and Tab limiter (This one is the most effective).

+1 for LeechBlock

I love the multiple block sets. I have a block set for all the forums I like to randomly visit and waste time on and I give myself a total of 75 minutes per day to visit forums.

Then I have another set for all the stuff I want to stay blocked all day - like tv show streaming sites - and I just have them all stay blocked until 9pm which is when I allow myself to sit back and watch a few episodes of a tv show.

I'm on a mac. I set the sites that I don't want to go to to 0.0.0.0. It works for a few days then magically starts working again with no changes. If you have any tips I'd love to hear it.

I don't really do Macs (I only have 5 in my network and those guys usually take care of themselves).

Try 127.0.0.1 - the 'magically starts working again' part almost seems like you have some sort of system restore point getting refreshed.

Totally agree. But to noobs like me, reading deceivingly appears to be work. So it's nice to have a message pop-up reminding me that for every 20 minutes reading I do, I should be doing 40 minutes practical, and that the reading had better be relevant.

Also, since Leechblock allows a custom page to be loaded when the time's up, you can actually dickroll yourself, which is nice.

The only downside so far was that I proudly showed my wife the list of sites I wasn't going to spend hours on any more.
She scanned the list and asked, "Uh, what's youporn?" :uhoh2:

Just move to Australia... I'm sure WF will end up on the blacklist eventually.

love the Voice...

I must not browse.
Browsing is the mind-killer
Browsing is the little death that brings total demotivation
I will shutdown my browser
Where the browser has gone there will be nothing
Only I will remain.
