Weird Yahoo PPC Problem

So I just started testing a new offer out on Yahoos Search Marketing platform (which i can't stand btw), but anyway, i had my max spend at $30 a day just to test, and for the past 5 days or so, i have not once even hit the $30 mark. So the campaign was doing well and i raised up the max spend to $100, 2 days after i did that, i was still not hitting $30 a day. Then all of a sudden, i got this huge increase of impressions and clicks from this one keyword. I hit my $100 limit and $92 of it was from one keyword that i had.

here is the weird part. this keyword was getting barely any traffic at all before yesterday, then all of a sudden it eats up my whole ad spend. the second weird thing about it is that when i look at my prosper spy view or keyword analyzer the keyword shows that each word is capitalized like "Barns For Sale" consitently for the 150 so times it was clicked. usually keywords come up as "barns for sale" - lowercase

So i'm pretty lost, it makes me think it was a bot or some kind of script due to the fact it was all capitalized, but i'm stumped. Does anyone know what could be happening? and has this ever happend to you?

Probably came from one of their low value partner sites. If it converted you shouldn't care, but if it didn't just either turn off the partner network or delete the keyword.

it converted but not nearly as frequently as very similar keywords ... the referer says search.yahoo.com as well. same thing today again ... i don't get it its just a huge spike out of no where

Happens to me all the time. Sometimes it's great but also scary. If the campaign is profitable I set the daily at some rediclious number like $12,500 just in case it happens & let it fly.
Usually get those rocket clicks at a much lower cpc than other days.

email them about it. If its fraud they give you your money back. Happened to me a bunch of times

Also you can shut down the partner causing the problem

I've had this happen to me too. The keywords are exactly the same, with the same case and everything. I think it's probably some glitch on their parameter passing that's showing the exact same keyword. It's not fraud because you're getting conversions out of it. I had this shit happen back in the day for CPS and CPA stuff (where credit cards where involved), not just free download or zip submit shit.

were you getting conversions?

i got 3 conversions yesterday out of like 150 clicks, which is REALLY low compared to other keywords, this keyword is pretty specific too...

and like i said it just started gettin huge volume yesterday, and the campaigns ran for a week before this ...

happened to me quite a few times, type in the keyword in yahoo and see if there's any new 'news' stories related to what you're advertising, sometimes your ad may end up getting lots of clicks due to that.

Sorry, yeah I meant to say I was getting conversions and making a pretty good ROI on it. Weirdest shit, but when the PPC Gods are sending that kinda traffic, you don't question it ;)
