NOTE: See the end of this post for a special promotion.

A few years ago I announced zensix in this thread. Today, I'm proud to announce my next venture, IonVZ.com. Before anyone asks, yes, ZenSix is alive and well, but it's grown a reputation as being a more "budget" host (due to the prices, the datacenter, etc). And due to it's popularity I started a waiting list. However, it never really caught the eye of people who needed PREMIUM services and equipment, which is exactly the niche IonVZ will fill.

ABOUT IONVZ

For IonVZ I've partnered with Karl and together we're going to be offering WF services you won't get elsewhere. Our servers are located in the Softlayer datacenter (the best of the best, WF is hosted there) and have a 1GigE port dedicated connection, yes, 1000Mbps.

Our equipment is also the best of the best. Supermicro motherboards, DDR3 RAM, Xeon (i7) CPU with 8 cores, WD Caviar RE3 Hard Drives... everything is top of the line.

Our support is, well, anyone who has used ZenSix can vouche for my support. Add Karl to the mix and you won't get better support anywhere (and what other host is gonna answer your questions via PM if you feel lazy?).

Bold statements considering the number of companies out there, and the superior data centers, and support teams bigger than a 2 man operation. Especially considering you claim to be the BEST at everything.

That said, good luck buddy.
:rasta:

barefootsie, it would be one thing if you were just some dickhead know it all about datacenters and decided to shit on their thread. However its an even more shit head move to do it when you yourself are in the same business, piss off bitch.

To the topic on hand, Karl is insanely talented and has done some things for my server and coding needs that were nothing short of amazing. I recommend if you purchase hosting with them, get managed!

I am not shitting on their thread. Although, you are welcome to interpret it any way you like.

I would say the same to anyone, in any thread, in any business, saying they are the best equipment, best prices, best support.... the BEST ANYTHING in this day an age with so much competition. That it's a BOLD STATEMENT to make.

*shrug*

I'll just ignore the majority of your post and say thanks.

You're welcome champ. Best wishes on the endeavor.

How about from this post on everyone just keep the comments focused to questions about the service. I'm getting too old to have to rage in every thread I make. I'll be happy to rage in any other threads made, but for the sake of my blood pressure, not here.

I'd also be interested if you ever decided to support windoze.

Would require at the very least Xen (which solusvm supports), but we would want to get a separate server for that specifically. If I may ask, for what purpose would you need windows, if its for something like xrumer it would be moot point since we couldn't support that on Softlayer's network (acceptable use policy).

Did someone say they needed someone to rage up in here?! :angryfire:

I kid, I kid (kind of). Love Zensix, best of luck with your new endeavor.

How's it against Softlayer's AUP?
spam?

http://www.softlayer.com/legal/acceptable-use-policy/

2. Unsolicited Email: The sending or receiving of mass unsolicited email (SPAM) is a direct violation of SoftLayer’s AUP. This includes the direct sending and receiving of such messages, support of such messages via web page, splash page or other related sites, or the advertisement of such services.
3. Email Bombing: The sending, return, bouncing or forwarding of email to specified user(s) in an attempt to interfere with or over flow email services is a direct violation of SoftLayer’s AUP.
4. Proxy Email (SPAM): The use of dedicated services to proxy email unsolicited users is a direct violation of SoftLayer’s AUP. Proxy email is defined as the use of dedicated services to act in concert with other services located inside and outside the network to achieve mass unsolicited email (SPAM) to unrelated third parties.

Usually when someone asks bout windows, aside from ASP/MS-SQL support I usually ask because its to run certain bots or software such as xrumer. So if that were the reason for asking, it would be moot because we wouldn't want to support something that would risk the server being shut down and costing other clients on the box some downtime. (I know the specific above is targeted towards emails, but why risk it)

XRumer isn't spam?

Edit: you do know what xrumer is... right?

XRumer doesn't violate ANY of these.

Edit 734234: Also just FYI I'm not trying to shit on the thread, but I want to make sure I'm clear on why you're not going to offer Windows VPS's.

XRumer doesn't violate ANY of these.

I know that xrumer basically does mass spam of forums, so could still classify as spamming. I'm just saying unless Eric decides otherwise we probably wouldn't want to support that kind of specific activity, so if that was the desired intent of wanting windows it would be moot. But as it is right now we don't support windows. Kinda like how Softlayer allows porn, but we don't.

But thats not the reason for not offering windows, just simply clearing up any future misunderstanding of people holding out for it IF the opportunity comes about. (Hell could simply be neither of us want to support it *grin*)
