Laptop Recommendations..

since i began affiliate marketing i've been working on an hp laptop with a 14" screen .. yea and it's been about a year. so it's time for an upgrade

i was thinking of just buying a 23" monitor and hooking my laptop up to it, but tbh i do a lot of moving around so i like the idea of being able to take my workstation wherever i go

does anyone have any suggestions for a good laptop to work from everyday? i was thinking i'd at least get a 17" screen, i've seen a nice asus with an i7 core and some ridiculous video card for $1.7k, seems awesome, but at the same time i'm not gaming, just web design, stats, and photoshop, so i'm thinking i could get away with spending less.

any suggestions?
 


roll an aluminum macbook. then get yourself a nice 60'' LED and use that as your external as you chill on a nice leather couch. that was my setup for a while and it was awesome. for portability, get an ipad and tether that as your external.
 
If your taking it places, 17" is a PITA to lug around. At most I'd get 15.4-16". 15.4" looks quite a bit smaller in store than it does carrying it around.

This.

The 16s are nice, they tend to have a wide screen and are less tall.

Try looking for backpacks or computer cases that fit 17s. Limited choices and kinda huge.

most of the time its stationary, but i move around a lot, so right now i just throw it in a bookbag, then when i get to whereever i'm goin it goes right back on the table/desk .. i can see how it could def be a PITA, but i'm not taking it to the library or anything if thats what u were thinkin

Well any laptop is just a piece of hardware, the software is really what makes a computer, MBP just happens to be a really solid piece of hardware, and the fact that you can easily have OSX and Windows at the same time makes it worth it to me.
 
Stick with Levno, Asus or Sony Vaio. Stay away from Dell, Acer or Toshiba. That is all.
 
just got a lenovo T510 i5, 4gb ram for $920 shipped. Still love my T61 but my sister need a laptop so she will get the T61
 
just checked out their website ... they are siiiiick as shit. 8 hours of batter life on a 17 inch is nuts! i want one .. theyre fucking expensive tho

I just got a new Dell Vostro 3300 last week and it's been pretty awsome so far. It's pretty powerful and feels solid.

Alot of people hate on Dells but tbh i've been satisfied with this laptop so far. It also doesn't hurt that I only paid $650 for it.
 
two of my roommates have older dells and honestly i hate them, i dont know why i just do. i'm sure their new stuff is a lot better

i have an hp and my battery lasts for ~ 3 minutes when unplugged. i'd like the mac, if anything else tho i'd probably go asus

the problem is just that i don't know how much computing power i really need. i have a t5500 right now in this laptop and its fine for aff marketing right now
