I've read quite a few threads in this forum but one thing I haven't yet seen (or missed) is CPA landing pages. I'm a beginner in this area, do you just use the landing pages provided by azoogle and other companies? If not, what do you use? Do you change small things like titles, etc?

I'm not sure how it's possible to compete when everyone is using the same landing pages, and the same sites to promote these affiliate offers (adwords, 7search, etc..) How can you be better than the other guy doing the exact same thing?

Thanks,
Wesley

Yes you have to use their landing page which is the major problem with affiliate marketing. You can have an offer that pays well and their form doesn't convert for shit and there's nothing you can do about it. Just have to find another offer that converts better. Always look at things as cost per click. Which will bring in conversion and payout for your traffic.

Actually, no, in most cases you don't have to use their landing pages. Many people create their own, but then the problem is you have to have a good enough landing page to take the ppc traffic and convince the user that the product is worthwhile enough to continue on to the merchants landing page. Also, Google says that your adwords landing page should contain more than just a rehash of what's on the merchants landing page, and if it doesn't have *extra* information about the product (such as reviews or comparisons, etc), they *might* disable your ad.

I have a couple of sites that do ok with affiliate offers just from their natural traffic, but I've been playing with direct-to-merchange ppc lately, and I don't know how people are making much money at that, because I haven't been able to make it work at all.

Edit: Sorry if this is confusing... you have to use their landing page *eventually*, but you can drive ppc traffic to your own landing page first, which then drives the traffic to the merchants landing page.

So just having the landing page by azoogle promoted via adwords no longer works? They will disable this ("quality score?")

I'd like to see an example of a landing page that has changed since this came into effect if someone has something

He didn't say it no longer works, he said they *might* disable your ads. A smart thing to do is change the colors/template a bit, then write some original content for it. Be sure to add privacy policy, terms, and a contact us link at the bottom.

Wesley, do exactly that. Landing pages are very effective when they are thought out. The idea is to pre-sell the merchants product. If you can write (and design) a compelling sales page, then you are golden.

The only problem is, now we have to worry about making the site acceptable by Google's terms...

Actually, I didn't say you can't just shoot the traffic to the merchant, I said if you make your own landing page, theoretically it needs to have more than just the same thing that's on the merchant's landing page.

Yes create your own landing page and make it target the audience and make it sell even better than the merchants landing page and you shoudl do well and then wont have to worry abotu the big G.

Sometimes you don't need a landing page. The merchant does a good job of converting the visitor.
