Of course, because taking somebody who's attracted to men, placing them in a unit full of men, and telling them to be 'loud and proud' about where they wanna dip their pecker sounds like a FANTASTIC idea for the troops. I don't care what you say, we just do not live in the U.S.A. if a gay soldier doesn't have the right to tell everyone what he does with his tool.

Great idea! Why don't we have men and women bunking together too? Why don't we have all genders in the military showering together too? If any of them claim they're concerned about inappropriate sexual advances, we can simply tell them they 'think too highly of themselves' and they're 'bigots'.

Furthermore, we should release the soldiers from our 'repressive' policies and tell them not to 'live in the shadows anymore'. While the sexes are bunking together, the men should make it a VITAL issue of importance to let the women know they are heterosexual and sexually attracted to women. And those women better dare not complain or protest... those BIGOTS!!! Don't they know how long we've been fighting for? Don't they know how long we've been yearning for the right to be 'open' and tell everyone who we're sexually attracted to? The very fate of this nation rests on people knowing that kind of information, for God's sakes! Of all the issues facing America right now, I can think of none more important than a gay soldier telling everyone how gay he is! Can we get Obama to rush an Executive Order on this? Dear God, man, lives are hanging in the balance!
 


compromise: Nobody in the military, straight or gay, should be flaunting any kind of sexuality in any way, shape, or form.

Actually, there's the idea that sexuality is an incredibly powerful bonding mechanism. As long as people are protected against pregnancy, responsible sexuality can be a highly effective way of increasing the cohesion of a fighting unit. Battle, sex and biological functions are intensely personal and strip away inhibitions. The best bonding takes place then.

There is absolutely nothing sexy at all about being in a foxhole with someone else. You're shitting in there. You're pissing in there. You're both terrified. Last thing on your mind is, "Wow, I hope I can get some."

What do you think this whole thing is about, PJ? Do you think hetero soldiers are going around, telling fellow soldiers, "You know, I'm... heterosexual."?

Of course not. Nobody cares.

And yet, for some reason, there is a core group of ideologues who are absolutely rabid over the idea that homosexual soldiers let EVERYBODY know who they like having sex with. Who gives a fuck? If I was a soldier, why the fuck would I need to know what gender my fellow soldier is attracted to? Why would they feel the uncontrollable urge to tell me? Why are they obsessed with telling people they're gay?

Why is this such a big deal? Why do gay people absolutely INSIST on letting everyone know they're gay? Why would the President make this such a high priority?

There's only one answer: they want some type of validation for their behavior, on some weird national scale. They want the government-granted right to not only pester people about their sexual habits, they want those same people to condone their lifestyle or be branded a 'homophobe' or 'bigot' by brilliant posters like the lib-drones above who have already displayed this phenomenon.

That's what this is really about.

I was thinking more like bragging about sexual escapades or whatnot, i.e. "Dude I totally fucked Pvt. Andrea Nastyballs last night it was amazing", which happens out of masculinity or whatnot. Overt sexuality doesn't belong in a fighting force like the military, gay or straight. Come on in if you're gay or straight, but if you become a problem, enjoy your dishonorable discharge, or at least one step above so you can still vote.

Of course it's a political move, and it's bullshit. It shouldn't matter if you're pounding private peter in the pooper or not as long as it's not discussed, and doesn't become a problem or distraction.

Or how about out boy Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton talking about reconciliation not long ago? Remember? They said it was "so bad" and that is when it had to do with something reconciliation was made for. Now they are ready to pull the trigger on something that will change the country and our economy forever.

just because someone is gay doesn't mean they have to support gay "marriage" or promote an active gay lifestyle. in fact, there are plenty of out-of-the-closet gays who don't support gay "marriage."

And just like straight people they have the right not to get married. But unlike straight people they don't have the right to get married. Because we have deemed them undeserving of equal status.
 
If they supposedly only want equality, you'd think they'd be happy with equal legal benefits, tax benefits, etc.. They claim all they want is equality, so you think they'd be satisfied with legal equality which is what they currently receive through a civil union.

And yet.. they're not. So what are they truly after? I've got a few ideas, and one rhymes with "palidation".
