So I got a new account manager assigned. He called me at like 3AM so I couldn't answer, but before calling him and talking I want to ask what's your experience with them.

My concern is, since I don't know what their exact policies are, I might get in trouble after they throughly inspect my accounts (like what often happens in adwords). Not that I'm doing something shady but I guess I'm pushing the envelope on certain things.

Also, they offered account optimization where they'd rearrange my adgroups, kws, etc to get me more traffic. I'm sceptical of this service because of not knowing what to expect.

Please share your experience.

While I don't have experience with YSM specifically but I can tell you from my experience with other ppc engines, DON'T let them touch your campaigns. The only way they can get you more traffic is raising your bids and fucking up your ROI. I hope I'm wrong, good luck.

Your account manager has no power to ban your account. There's a separate department that handles that. Anyways - are u doing rebills on YSM?

Yea I get the same feeling. Though they could help me with content network... I've never been able to pull any real traffic from there.

And no I'm not running rebills.

Ignore them. Not worth the chance. I've had 2 drastically different experiences. My Google rep basically shut down legit campaigns, while my YSM rep was totally cool with some more "Grey area" campaigns and would even give some useful tips. YMMV.

yahoo's fucked. VERY fucked. They take relevancy too serious and will ban you for any given reason. If you are advertising diet and use "diet food" keywords, you'll get the account disabled. Yahoo rep's are mostly OK with "grey area" campaigns as someone said above, but they have no power whatsoever when it comes to editoral reviews. At least google will be ok for most stuff at least for a few weeks until you get booted (unless ur runnin dem rebillz).

IMO most are not worth the time anymore.

Lets take adcenter as an example, which nowadays is a complete joke. I had a campaign drawn up by one of their reps. Bitch kept telling me that it's all about relevancy and that she'll create me a relevant campaign. Funny shit was that her campaign got 0 clicks and impressions so far, while my "unrelevant" campaign got a lot more than that.

^^^^True. That's exactly what happened to my account although I was able to run it for a couple of months before they deactivated my campaigns. I mentioned this in of the threads here but someone didn't believe me and said I was doing something shady. LOL!

With YSM, I have found a rep very helpful. I have multiple accounts running, Yahoo gold accounts to allow uploading csv instead of going through their interface, and I have banned accounts unbanned with a rep. I hear the complete opposite with Adwords reps.

They tried rearranging my stuff, but every change screwed up my camps and profitability took a nosedive.
