ebay/paypal

Fuck reminds me.. I've gotta file a claim for an eBay rip off (as buyer, wrong item, returned, no refund, not paypal). Fairly easy to file small claims online here, assume it's similar in the US. Although if Paypal sided with your buyer it sounds like your case might be a bit more complicated than mine.

Nah, I agree with this - file a claim on his ass. The contract of sale is between you and him, not you and paypal.

That way your case will be assessed by a judge rather than some 17 year old intern. Also, there's a good chance he'll crap himself when the summons lands on the doormat.

I have had multiple problems with ebay and paypal in the past. There is basically no seller protection whatsoever. Paypal also tried to hold my money in my account for 6 months before they would release it to me.
I threatened the head of Paypal Australia with legal action, reporting them to all of the relevant authorities, tv shows, etc, etc... I got my money back within 48 hours.

it was a gift card and I still had the gift card number and the store confirmed that they spent it online. I showed this to paypal and I still got fucked...dude said it had the wrong balance on it and he needed it for a cancer research auction so he couldn't use it... they never made him send it back or anything. I looked the dude up and hes a college student
As far as I know, gift card credits and anything digital are not covered by Paypal's protection, so this should be decided in your favor.

Yeah, I used to post auctions weekly, but even one now makes me cringe.
