haha true true

it's bizarre that one of the most shadiest industries is also one of the most open. no other industry sits around and teaches their competitors how to compete better just to be a celebrity among nerds

brb im cisco, hi broadcom come over here and I'll tell you what the best places to advertise are for our highest margin products. if we gangbang our customers really fast really hard all at once I bet we can wear trendy sunglasses and roll around in transistors at the next conference. fucking bloggers are the epitome of low income families making a little money and losing perspective

Well put. Some will do incredibly stupid things to get attention.

very true. in fact the reason this industry has become so fucked up and shady is because of stupid ass attention whores who teach their "fans" how to scam sheeps using a certain traffic source in a certain way.

first, these losers find out that you can get a few hundred dollars a day from scamming people at $35 a victim and think they're all "baller" or "gangsta" and then start to scale and expand. this shit squeezes out the legit guys since they can spend more to scam more. they start a blog or brag about it on WF then more asshats learn about this, scam people, saturate and fuck up the niche, brag about it on WF, teaches more want-to-be-black guys about how to scam on the interwebz... cycle repeats, repeats and repeats

in business people have always been open to educate each other since what they do won't be the same as what the other guy is doing. but recently in our industry, some AMers have been doing so much to gain attention that they'll out their entire business so a few hundred bored-shitless guys who read their blog will think of them as totally gangsta...

this is barely a proper business anymore. it's about damn time the government actually started cleaning this shit up. after this era in AM dies we can finally start acting like a real business again.

yao, regulation, business etiquette etc. is good, but it doesn't solve the problem as i said

someone who came up with nothing, now earning $50k a month while living in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nobodies -- let's face it; even friends+family, probably as most tech people not exactly raging clubbers + all-round socializers.....

who fucking else provides a genuine listening ear other than forums/blogs/twitter/etc. ?

as seen in pretty much all 'life' threads around here... most people in super-tech industries lead an intellectually isolated existence. 99% of people outside on the sidewalk concern themselves only with pop group X, reality show Y and lipstick brand Z. throw a few ex-boyfriend/girlfriend rumours in there and that's a typical 9-5'ers life. on the other hand, we're oblivious to that. we find it insignificant. still, it is the world outside our windows.

humans are still social beings, so we will talk. it's not very surprising these things happen.. but yes, it's really kind of crazy at the same time.

wf mindfuck thread #99 ! i better not come back while at work haha

yah. anyway I don't understand why ppl feel morally obligated to introduce other ppl to the opportunities created by the internet. if you HAVE the internet and DON'T realize it's mass-market and mass-distribution potential and don't pursue it (thereby becoming an affiliate marketer or related enterpruener), it's no one's fault but your own.

so based on that... ppl who justify "teaching" others affiliate marketing are just making a lousy excuse for being attention whores imo and further polluting the internet with crappy marketing from crappy affiliates

lol surrounded by nobodies. sounds mean. there are so many rich ppl in Europe mang. they don't all prance around starting blogs about how they fuck over other investors in stock deals. every affiliate blogger is just an attention whore. it's not like anyone ever gives away their profitable campaigns. the only thing ppl accomplish is getting more ppl into an industry that has lead caps

yea I see what you mean.

one thing we have in common is that don't want to be in the 9-5 drones space. it's good that we seek for more.

but the problem is that some guys think they "made it" because they successfully pushed an easy scam. I won't name names but we all know who the big ego tards are... it's sad that when I look at AM in our space (the paid traffic and leadgen AM space) it's full of people arguing with each other or bragging "i stack more dollaz than you" or "i make it rain harder bitchz".

other industries people act like how a business is supposed to be. in our space we have people arguing about useless stuff, dickrolling noobs, trolling, beg for boobs or photoshoping people. sure it's great fun but AM is actually a business.

it's becoming more about low enough to push the next big scam or whose false advertising is more effective. when you look at real businesses, the factors to success are innovation, operating on the long term, adding value and generally what a proper business should be. AM is becoming more and more the complete opposite.

it's good to talk but let's be honest here. most WFers are more interested in being more popular among their peers, talking trash to each other and boosting their egos.

there are still very professional guys here but the assholes far outnumber them.

You guys are all morons saying to lie to the court. Have fun turning it into a criminal manner from a civil one. Just stop fucking posting these threads. Srsly, wickedfire is like the biggest catalyst to fucking this industry over.

brb I'm Ryan Eagle I'm here for the Facebook gang bang of Obama grant ads, oh wait there is a conference scheduled

brb I'm nicky cakes, here is how to run dating campaigns

brb I'm nicky cakes, here is how we ate at the restaurant after slanging rebills on facebook

brb I'm uber I made 20k a day on True here is a cheap traffic source let's get it banned in 5 months instead of 5 years

U mad? I srsly don't understand why you guys insist on getting more noobs/retards into this industry. Brb lowering rebill rates for advertisers with shitty traffic

I actually take back what I said about the specific examples of kinda weird actions. I didn't mean to point out specific people. Just an illustration of what went down in the last year

Specifically, I take back what I said about Ryan Eagle because I'm pretty sure that was after the deregulation and I'm pretty sure he had anything to do with circulating that there is a Facebook deregulation or encouraging Obama ads. And of course I'm pretty sure everyone respects his hustle and the necessity to grow the publisher base.

And nicky cakes and uber are better affiliates than most of us, so I shouldn't be talking, plus networks are super happy. Nonetheless, still really don't understand their philosophical stance of instructing people to par take in affiliate marketing with basically no technical skills, legal understanding and knowledge that they're in some way or shape going to blow things up.

The funniest part is that whoever enthusiastically breaks whatever industry news on wickedfire is forgotten 99% of the time. This thread is actually a good piece of news

The FTC and state AG's are going after BS marketing claims on the internet big time in 2010. I say it is about time that they purge the internet of all the BS marketers who lie and cheat to make a sale. Don't matter if it's a landing page, blog or some guru lying mofo.

It is called theft be deception using deceptive marketing tactics to push copnsumers to what are essentially frauds. It is a akin to driving a bank robber to the bank and then when you get caught, you say, "I'm not guilty. I just drove the damn car!" LOL, tell that to the hundreds of bank robber drivers sitting in the Federal Pen.

If you are guilty for pushing people to a scam, I hope they make a BIG motha fricken expample of your a$$. Maybe the other lil wanna be affiliates who are 110 lbs dripping wet and act like internet gangsters behind their screennames will get scared of doing time and getting their a$$es served to the general prison population who just love lil 110 lb white butts every night.

If you cant make a living other than from using deceptive marketing ploys to scam struggling people, get the fawk off the internets or do your time and STFU.

But yeah, don't talk with the authrorites until you have a lawyer and if you do time or get fined, it is called what comes around, goes around. KARMA!

foreign domain registers + foreign web hosts + foreign networks = foreign cars

Yea dawg.

There is some value to this, if people think you are from some other random country they are less likely pursue you. If you do something really bad they will still come after you but it will save you from some of these fishing expeditions.

OP get a lawyer and see about getting the subpoena quashed. It really sounds like nothing more than a fishing expedition by the AG imo.
