Testing New Traffic - WTF?

How do you go about finding and testing new traffic sources?

Inside my tiny ass mind, I seem to think that PPC and the four CPV sites are the be all and end all. I know there are certain media banner/buy companies but I'm not a baller with $5k to drop. I'm trying to make my budget go as far as possible really.

So I'm looking to find new traffic sources, just to test and see how they go. I'm thinking you might have experience with finding new sources to test out.

Note - I'm not asking for your traffic sources, just a method of finding new sources to test.

I'm sure you might be reading this thinking 'what a joke, traffic sources are everywhere'. If that's you, help me out. I'm up for learning and failing. But I'm seriously stuck with this.

Open my narrow 'PPC + CPV only' mind.

Cheers.

Traffic Sources | Online Earning Guide

There is a short list of some stuff to get you started. Just use google pretty much and look around.

Also you don't need much money to do direct buys with small sites either.

Interesting, whoever owns that site actually just ripped off part of a much larger list including my comments that I wrote last November without so much as a credit.

Have a look at my original instead, there were quite a few more ad networks listed than the above linked post, and I put them up in a text file you can download as well:

I know people poke a lot of fun and talk trash or whatever about SlanghoMedia but that's because they don't want you in their playground... I actually got to meet the vice president of the company at adtech south and he's an awesome fuckin guy. Check em out.

Their offices are in the meat packing district of NYC - I actually took Shawn, the VP, out and we grabbed a few sausages as he showed me around. I agree really great guy - he really set me straight.

His personal blog is packed full, just like I was after that big, juicy sausage, with tons of tips to get you started with a truly hard to get into traffic source: http://ShawnMcArthur.com

+1 for SlanghoMedia even their US/CA traffic is still underpriced

They usually work with larger advertisers, but if you know someone you can get in the backdoor. PM me for a reference.
