Sneaky Affiliate Managers

DISCLAIMER: I just wanted to start out by saying I'm posting this under a new account because my AMs know what my main account is and I'm trying to protect my privacy here on this forum and protect the identities of my AMs.

I've got a couple of questions about Affiliate Managers and I'm wondering if you guys could help me out?

1) How do Affiliate Managers get paid? Do they get a percentage of my earnings?

2) How much access do they have to my data? Do other Affiliate Managers have access to my earnings as well?

3) I'm thinking of switching AMs because I know for a fact that my AM has a close friend that is running similar offers as me, and I'm concerned they are splitting revenue and my AM is sharing my data and telling them what I'm doing. Have you guys heard of AMs doing this? What has your experience been like with sneaky AMs doing this?

4) Is there stiff competition between AMs? If I switched AMs, would they still have access to what I'm running? Or do AMs typically keep that confidential?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

How an AM depends on the network they're with.
A lot of them get paid a % commission, or on bonus targets. Some poor suckers are on flat rates.
I get 3% of whatever my affs bring in to the network.

Data access also depends on how the network is run. Some will basically just be there to keep you complacent, and others will actually have a lot of access so that they can actually help you if you ask for it.
If you're paranoid, then cloak. Run shit through a prosper-202 link that goes to a meta-refresh or some such.

I know I've never shared one of my aff's methods with another, although I have used a few of their methods for myself on other offers (I'm on a non-compete contract).
That said, I'm sure other AMs out there would share that info if they're on a bonus based salary because increased sales increase their bonus.

Competition between AMs would be entirely dependent on pay policy at the network.
If they have to compete with each other for affiliates instead of being randomly handed them as they join, or there's some kind of top-performer bonus, then yeah, they'll compete. We don't have that here, so I can't really comment other than that bonuses I receive are sufficient to make it not worth the stress of competing if we did have such a scheme.

That damned Ryan Eagle is one sneaky ballzer. He's always helping me and giving me tips on how to be more successful. Seems he just wants me to make more and more... I wonder WTF he's up to?!

I think it is pretty common for affiliate managers and PPV networks to give away successful campaigns. Not going to name names but I have had both give me other affiliates entire campaigns. There was usually a lame justification like my other affiliate stopped running this campaign or I think you'll do more volume with this data than he is etc...

Really makes me think twice about the information that I give them.

Just make your AMs aware that if you share info with them and it get's leaked to another affiliate, you will kill them. Then after they go "haha", tell them your not joking.

Ha ha, it's definitely not that D-Bag. I'm specifically talking about some my mangers at Neverblue and Azoogle.

I ONLY tell people what I personally do / know how to do - I figure that my shit gets ripped anyways, might as well help people in EWA. I never share what other affiliates are doing because I'll get destroyed for that and my credibility as a network owner would get ruined.

I prefer affiliates not to tell me what their doing, how they're promoting (unless compliance requests it), not to see their landing pages or anything. I just don't feel comfortable knowing that information - I above all I always suggest affiliates to cloak. If they want me to review something for them I'm always more than willing to do it, and I never share that information.

In regards to LP's - nobody on EWA is instructed to even click/few/critique/look at them (mainly due to FTC regulations). I'm not out here policing pages nor do I have the manpower to do so.

It's just better to cloak your shit either way, with whoever network your working with.

If you gonna start calling out the network, then why u being a pussy making another account? If what you are saying is the truth, and that your managers sharing your secrets. Then straight up tell your manager you dont like what their doing and u gonna bounce if they dont make a commitment on keeping your shit private.

Maybe you are not aware that the two networks you are calling out are two very well known networks in the industry. I just dont see a reason why they would need to share your secrets cause you dont sound like a big affiliate at all.

Be more worried about your AM or even the network owner sharing your data with other aff's. I see this CONSTANTLY

Specially on unique campaigns. You find a good offer they will tell all their aff's and fuck your campaign.

Wrong and wrong dumbass. The so-called "credibility" of the network is irrelevant, AMs are going to steal shit regardless, because there is no real way to prove it's them and because they want to make more money.

Being a "big" affiliate has nothing to do with it, if someone's running a $200 daily campaign, and some affiliate is making god knows how much, of course they want to make an extra $200 a day dumbshit. Think before you speak.

Always cloak! It's just smart... Why wouldn't you?

You don't have to tell them anything. I can't see any logic in telling your AM what your secrets are. If the leads are good and the volume is high, then whocares. If some affiliate asks an AM what they should do to do higher volume. Then let them tell'em to start out here and read and read and read...

As for competition between affiliates belonging to a single AM, and an AM reveals secrets... Ouch! Declare war on that bitch and let the rest of us know...

And if you are an AM that does share info and steal data, I hope bad shit does happen, cuz that's Fcked Up!

How easily viewable are affiliate pixels by all network AMs though? Is there a way of encrypting these?

Just a warning about the DMR stuff guys, it doesn't work. It leaks every browser except Firefox and Internet Explorer. A solution like the one I implemented in Link Engine is ideal: loop back to yourself, test to see if the DMR worked to clear the refresh, if it didn't, try one of the other methods that has been proven to work, if none work, drop out to another URL.

Guaranteed 100% that DMR will leak Safari and Chrome traffic. Leaking even one gives away your LP, so be careful if you're worried.

Are you dumb?

I never really worry about this. Most of my stuff I assume will be stolen and dead in a few weeks at best anyway... I double meta refresh if I happen to click it in tracking202 though, never think twice about it.

When I got started, one of my AMs asked to share my shit with him coz he said they dont trust the quality of leads I was bringing in... I knew my traffic was targeted and quality traffic, but had to share to get paid... Next day, there was another EXACTLY same campaign on the same platform. Link was from same aff n/w. I asked my AM how did that happen? ANd he said "Well, I never shared your info, but that offer has been performing good on our n/w so might be other affs trying it out.." I noted on that aff id and shared another shitty campaign few days later which was generating some revenue but I wasnt profiting.. and again tht same aff copied it.. Then I asked about who's that aff and howz he doin, my AM says "he is my guy who tests campaigns internally for me..." I simply moved on to another n/w.

Never trust your AM. NEVER share your traffic sources. For stats, test your shit yourself. And ALWAYS CLOAK!
