EPN is going to fuck us! QCP Preview Available

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAW! My earnings shot up from $0.00 yesterday to $0.01 today. Total EPC now down to $0.08.....

Can you post the questions they sent? I didn't get one. I just heard about it from Radio's post and a few other posts I saw when I was Googling about this.

It's a one question survey.

Which, of the following options, is the worst:
A) EPN continues using QCP
B) You get raped by a rabid silverback gorilla
C) You get raped by a rabid silverback gorilla that runs EPN sites in the same niche as you but with a 50 cent higher EPC.

Judging by a thread in the official ebay EPN forum option A is garnering 100% of the votes.

Interesting (and not in a good way) update on this whole thing.

Over at this link an eBay employee posted some comments related to the survey:

EPN Survey in Special Discussion Boards in Community

Some ebay dickhead said:
We actually are just now finalizing prioritizing the enhancements and improvements for our next release (probably February-March) – so any feedback you have on the platform is very timely and will be helpful to include on the survey. We look forward to getting feedback on QCP, and in addition to pricing - we hope you take the time to tell us about other areas – tools, reporting, our email, blog, and board communications and some of the guest blog posts we’ve been putting up, and other issues.

Also - after reading a bit on those forums last night it confirmed a couple of things I've suspected.

First - a lot of people who are making money are afraid of adding any new campaigns or making ANY changes.

Second - a number of people are starting to suggest the way to make money is to go with high volume/lower price goods.

I have a niche in mind to test the second one. It's not like it will blow my $0.01/click if it fails.

Also, I think I'm only going to list "buy it now" auctions on the new niche.

I've struggled with this idea for a long time. I've never tried it out, but I'd be curious to hear if anyone else here has done it and how it worked out.

ive usually had pretty good luck with buy it now only but im in the auto niche..ive always found that having the buy it now showing with the low starting bid price was good for clicks when running the feed banners..

who knows what it'll do with the new QCP but, my text links are my top performers by far..

Just FYI - the last 5 days I've had zero'd out because 5 days ago I had 600 hits via spiders. Hey eBay, you remember when I told you about how this was going to fuck it up the day you proposed QCP? Yeah, notice how it's fucking us? Oh no matter, you're still making more $$$ now.

I know this sounds radical, but eBay should find some kind of system where it doesn't matter how many clicks you send to them, but you get paid based on your performance. That sounds like a good way to reward hard working affiliates so everyone makes money.

Oh.

I'm at $0.01 and going strong for several days now. My overall EPC says it is still at $0.06 but that makes zero sense since I haven't made that much in a couple of weeks.

Prior to getting hit by spiders I was at $0.14 for quite a while.

EPC blows.

I haven't been hit at all by the bots but my EPC has dropped to almost nothing over the last week or so. Anyone else not hit by the bots seeing similar results?

11/9/09 0.25
11/10/09 0.24
11/11/09 0.21
11/12/09 0.19
11/13/09 0.13
11/14/09 0.08
11/15/09 0.05
11/16/09 0.04
11/17/09 0.02

...no bots, steady traffic...

Another campaign went from .36 to .11 overnight, again no bots. Several others dropped to .00 over the weekend and have been slowly coming back.

I saw a large increase in clicks at the beginning of the month when this whole 0.14 --> 0.00 EPC stuff started, but I'm fairly positive that bots were not involved since it matched perfectly to my analytics traffic. Since then, I've made a few more sales on my campaigns and have seen EPC rise to 0.02, then 0.01, and a steady 0.04 for the past 4-5 days. However, yesterday I saw a winning bid for a big ticket item, generating a $100 commission under the old system, so I'm hoping to see a significant rise in EPC for today's clicks. That would at least ease my mind that the 0.00 business was a legitimate drop in winning bids and not eBay playing with the settings.

Because of all of that, I'm guessing some combination of
A) eBay playing with algorithms
B) slow down in purchasing prior to Black Friday and Christmas maybe?
C) actual bot traffic
are the reasons for everyone seeing EPC plummet and slowly come back up by a few pennies.

Your EPC doesn't mean anything. I want to know what your earnings under the old and new system are when compared. The EPC smoothing is obviously a farce, because no smoothing occurs with my account bouncing up and down, day to day.

The whole click paradigm is a head fake. It has everyone thinking they are paid per click, but they are not. Your clicks are not equal. That is why they call it QUALITY Click Pricing.

So pull your reports, check what you should have made on straight up auction commission, and then compare that to your gross total 11/1 thru 11/17.

You're meant to be rewarded for ACRUs as well, so assume $1 per ACRU as a minimum.

Now, HOW MUCH IS QPC EARNING OR LOSING YOU?
