My iMac finally came in, just wanted to share first impressions.
The LED screen...amazing. The 27" actually does feel a bit smaller than my previous 30", but now that both are there it's not really a big deal.
It seems people have been hating pretty hard on the Magic Mouse as well...I don't see what the big fuss is about. I actually like it a lot, it works perfectly. I guess I'll have to wait and see if this performance keeps up, but right clicking can actually be done, the scrolling works well and going back and forth is really nice.
As far as the computer's performance, we'll have to wait and see how she does when I install all of my old applications, but right now I opened up every app I could and the computer didn't slow down at all.
My only question :
I'm hooking up dual monitors with my old Apple Cinema HD display. I got the mini display/DVI converter, so I've plugged in the DVI, the USB, but NOT the Firewire. It's the wrong type (coming out of my old display) and doesn't fit into the new iMac. So just the DVI and USB are connected.
It does display, but the maximum resolution I can set it at is much lower than what it actually is. It's saying 1280 x 800 is the highest resolution, which is horrible. Is this because of the firewire cable not being plugged in? Which would mean I would have to run out and get a converter.
