So i had to fly to San Jose yesterday just for the day and me being dumb i accidentally booked my flight for the following Sunday (November 1st) instead of yesterday.
So i called up Delta and talked to one of the ladies who charged me 300 bucks to change my tickets (which i was ok with because i was the fucktard who booked it wrong in the first place)
I get to San Jose and wasn't 100% sure about my return flight so i call back and talk to a different rep who informs me that my return flight from the 1st was also used for my flight to San Jose so in essence i paid for 4 tickets (2 round trip) plus the change fee for a one way ticket to San Jose, me being a little pissed finally got it worked out that they would get me on a returning flight for no charge because they had screwed up and shouldn't of done that i was happy then and thought wow Delta is actually doing something cool....but then...

I get to the airport to check in for my return flight and i knew i had to go to the help station to get it (because the CSR told me so) i get there and am informed that i will need to fork out another 500 bucks to get on the plane to get back home because the CSR did it wrong well i got a little pissed off and told the lady to fuck off and a bunch of other choice words but in the end i needed to get home so i paid the fee and got on my plane but just fucking pisses me off that the CSR told me one thing and i get to the damn airport and am told something completely different and then proceed to get fucked because they don't know how to train their people correctly

thats my bitch session for the year

anyone else have similar experiences?

Accept the $300 ticket change as your fuckup and dispute the $500 charge with your CC company.

4 flights w/Delta this past week and no issues (except for having to throw a bunch of shit away because I arrived late for one of my flights and couldn't check my bag -- but that was my fault). Delta's always done right by me...

That sure sucks, I'm sure you'll double check those dates in the future.

Delta does ABSOLUTELY suck. Where I am, the closest airport is basically a small regional airport. The only way I can get anywhere from there is thru Atlanta.....on fucking Delta.

They should just hand out a jar of anal lube at the counter.

So delta decides to service your small podunk airport and your pissed off they charge out the ass for this? Maybe you should get some Obama grants because your clearly the victim of an evil profiteering company.

Not as badly as Air India. Worst fucking airplane in the world.

Never flew Delta, only that POS and Qatar Airways which was a pretty great experience.

Nope. I just drive to MCO (Orlando) where every imaginable airline flies out of....and Delta still sucks. Watch as Virgin America kicks all their asses.

I flew home from NYC to Houston last summer to visit family. I had my mom and kids with me, and it took us 3 (THREE) days to get home. Everything that could go wrong, did. Yes, Delta.

in the service industry there's never a "nothing we can do" unless you're a complete dick. Talk nice to them next time and you probably won't have to pay out the ass to fix the mistake.

I always go into Super Sweet I'm The Victim But It's Okay Because I'm Still Smiling mode when dealing with these kid of problems and I never have the kind of trouble the people in the other lines yelling and screaming at the staff have. All those extra fees and crap are just a managers page away. They just won't do it unless they have a positive personal interest in making sure you're happy.

QFT. Politeness goes a long way

For example - last time I flew I was on crutches, some airlines give you a complimentary upgrade to the front row of seats behind first class so you have less ground to cover (delta, northwest) - the airline I was flying on that day (continental) did not - when I got to my gate I went up to ask the lady at the desk if she could get me moved up towards the front. She was not the correct gate agent and refused politely to make any changes for me. Two other folks pushed their way past me and asked\demanded she help them with seating , she gave them the same polite answer. They went off in a huff, I asked her name and when she gave it I said "Fname, thanks for your assistance - hope you don't have to deal with anyone like that the rest of the day"
I flew first class on that flight ;)

Sometimes it can be cheaper just to book another 1-way flight, and not cancel/change your current leg and pay the cancellation fee. I doubt it would work, but if you speak to anybody with business acumen at an airline, I'd guess you'd be able to get a change fee waived in that case (so they can rebook/overbook your other ticket, rather than being stuck with a seat they can't fill, and no money from a change fee).

Cant Say anything bad about Delta, I have gotten Two Free First class Upgrades From Them. Bad luck I guess
