I bought an unlocked Touch Diamond and a just decided to buy a Touch HD too so I downloaded some software to sync my phonebook from the Diamond to my computer so I could transfer it to the HD. Of course I forgot to look at the software's settings before connecting the phone and instead of syncing from the phone to the computer, it synced from the computer to the phone and deleted the entire phonebook of 500+ contacts. I ended up smashing both phones and I'm using a piece of shit Motorola from like 3 years ago because I just destroyed two $600 phones and don't have anything else.

So it looks like I'll be buying yet another new phone so I'm looking for recommendations, something that doesn't have the word "HTC Touch" in it. Whatever the best shit is, and it has to be unlocked / GSM and have some decent fucking sync software. Any ideas?

Maybe get a gym membership, some herbal relaxation tea and a punching bag too. The Touch is nice though not sure if you'll want to change.

Yeah, I hate phones too. Every time I get a phone call, I'm either shitting or raping my penis. Other than that, I never get phone calls. Even from telemarketers. On the other hand, it's quite handy, because if I want someone to call me, I just start doing the dirty jerk, and I know I have like a 1-in-3 chance of someone calling me. Maybe that's why I never pick up the phone anymore.

Someone has some anger management issues to deal with, but boy are you popular! 500+ contacts in your phone?

Do what everyone else does when they lose their phone. Send an email to your friends and post up on Facebook, I'm a big douchebag and lost my phone (again), please send me your contact info.

Yeah did that but there's a lotta people I didn't have on Facebook. It's just annoying that I have to waste time typing them back in and shit.

HTC devices should come with SpriteBackup, or similar, as a regular part of the install nowadays. Should have backed up your phone before attempting to mess around with it, because as the only saying goes: If it's Microsoft, it's going to fuck you up and destroy your life, marriage, and future job prospects.

Actually, it's not an old saying. I just made it up. But it's certainly true.

It shouldn't come with anything that the manufacture or software provider wouldn't want to help you do anyways. Kinda like saying the iphone should come with quickpwn so you can download a backup app you can't get on the app store, so that you can screw around with it beyound what Apple allows. :D

Funny thing is that I went through all the options

Windows Mobile - Content all the way up to the HTC Touch, which just plain BLOWS
Palm Treo - What were they thinking? Have not had a pre
iPhone - I love it to bits, but Syncing sucks

The weird thing is that Microsoft are the only ones that get syncing done OK. Activesync is still not perfect, but better than the rest, especially on 2+ computers.

Still going with the iPhone, love that thing. My new one arrived at the post office yesterday, the old one goes to my wife.

Yeah the iPhone is an amazing phone I just got tired of not being able to walk down the street without seeing a hundred other people with the same shit.

Anyone try the Xperia?
