I'm deciding how to make a landing page. Looking around it seems a lot of people really like Wordpress for landing pages. Others say don't use Wordpress. So, three questions:

1) What are the arguments for using Wordpress?
2) What are the arguments agains using Wordpress?
3) What is the general consensus (if there is a consensus) on what is best way to make a landing page if you're not using Wordpress?

1)
It's fast, easy
Very robust, easy to look professional
2)
It can slow down under large volume (if you dont do stuff to it)
3)
I think there fine to use, if you have mad volume, rip it and make it static.

What matt said + you need to worry about security updates.
1 WP install is a pain, 100 is unmanageable.

There's stuff like WPMU to alleviate this problem, but then you start to lose some of that simplicity that makes WP attractive in the first place.

Doesn't hurt to try it out for 1 LP to see if you like it.

what about editing simple CSS layouts into LPs?
They seem easy to duplicate and edit as far as content is concerned, and then you'd not have to worry about security updates, speed, etc...
