Could Affiliate Marketers/Marketing Be Considered a Profession?

My mother-in-law still think I'm an attorney. Whats your point? LOL

Explaining what we do to the older generation is much more difficult than explaining to your mates. She doesn't believe that I actually earn more money than her son who is a doctor. I suppose sat around in my pants all day rarely shaving doesnt help my cause much.

Get yourself an office then, once you reach a certain level of revenue you should regardless, get a few employees, then watch how "mom" suddenly starts bragging about you to all the yentas in the hair salon.

Nahhhh I'm actually driven by people doubting me.

Just out of interest how would I utilise employees in this business. I'd have serious trust issues showing people what I do so they could replicate it.

I hear ya. There's no real solution for this except to be a good judge of character at the interview, scare the shit out of them with lots of Non Competes, NDAs, etc, tell them a story at the time of their interview of how you're replacing the last person because they decided to steal the technology, and you just won a judgement on their house.

It's a fine line. You want someone who is just smart enough to do the job but not smart enough to try it on their own.

Most serious PPCers I know dont have employees. As the bulk of my time is in the email world, there are many mundane tasks we can assign. Our biggest concern is them fucking up with the data vs. security issues.
