Did you know that most of the Russian immigrants, those who actually remember living in the USSR, are republicans (please do not respond with "My daddy was from Russia and he is a staunch democrat" - i said most). You know why? - democracy smells too much like repackaged communism. They cannot help but draw parallels to what transpired there and are finding quite a few similarities that were simply "rebranded" as something else.
Also, patriotism is overrated and has a tendency of making people blind to the reality of the situation.

Just my two cents...
 
I'm surprised at the amount of arguing going on about obama in an affiliate marketing forum. This place should be the first to realize that results don't come over night.. Just like in affiliate marketing. Sure, you may be losing money at first, but if you don't test an offer long enough you may never know its true potential. Same thing with obama. Give the man the 4 years before making a judgement. NO president would have done any better. GM would hvae still failed, economy would have still sucked, and taking a trip will still cost $200k.

Some people just need to stfu and wait 4 years. If you don't like the results then vote him out... that's how it works. Yea I voted for the guy, buy I won't vote for him again if I don't like what I see.
 
Agreed. As an affiliate marketer you must also know when enough is enough. You cant spent all of your money and your kids piggie banks in the first couple days.
I'm not complaining about the economy either. I'm actually doing pretty well, have 3 different business, my fridge is always full, I got heating and cooling, and just bought my wife a new jeep, going on a two week tropical vacation next week. Life is sweet here in the States (I love America). I also know if I should fail in business, I can always start over. But I dont need government getting in my way, government didnt make America great. People did. I just hope it stays this way.

The Russians (particularly the KGB) were always very envious of western propaganda, specifically American propaganda. In Russia they had to force people to follow the government. In the west, people think they are the government. It's actually quite brilliant.

People confuse patriotism with nationalism. But that is part of the people as government myth above. In the USSR and Eastern block most people ended up participating out of fear. In the west, you have people chanting politicians names, and cheering when Cops taser some retarded or homeless person. As the CCTVs appear everywhere, people start watching reality TV.

It is very surreal.
