I read this post talking to real estate agents on why most of them suck and all I could here was the lessons the real money makers on this site preach. Russell Shaw in real estate, the guy who wrote this article, is a top earner.

So when he wrote this I thought I would share it with you. It is very true. I would say I am stage 2, maybe...
There was a scale developed many years ago (originator is uncertain) that has been altered (for the worse, in my opinion) from what I learned in 1971.
From the bottom up, the original scale went:
1. Unconsciously incompetent. Doesn’t know and doesn’t know he doesn’t know.
2. Consciously incompetent. Knows he doesn’t know. (note that NOT knowing is a step UP!)
3. Unconsciously competent. Knows how to do it, but doesn’t really know why it works.
4. Consciously Competent. Knows how to do it and knows why it works, so can increase it and validly teach it.
What stage are you?

Update: Forgot to link to the original article. http://agentgenius.com/g-rants-insanity-more/realtors/the-secret-to-becoming-a-top-listing-agent/

We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns -- the ones we don't know we don't know.

Thanks for the article. It was a very interesting read.

I've read this exact quote on 4 different forums on completely different topic threads recently.

"I heard those guys at the Wickedfire forum are promoting rebill offers."

Statements like that confirm who the real marketers are from the ppl who don't have the motivation to come out of the stone age and innovate something.

“I was like a boy playing on the sea-shore, and diverting myself now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me.” -Isaac Newton

Our ocean is the internet and the pebbles are the idiots.

Even if you know what works and you have the validity to teach it, someone out there always knows more than you. As soon as you even begin to think you're consciously competent you become outdated and arrogant.

Some suck. Some rock. Some suck rock.
