Slightly off-topic...
I realize money is a huge barometer for some folks. But, I'll bet most would agree that making money in this industry over the long haul is tough. Several years back, I was doing close to $20,000 a month (net). Some of you might be thinking, "Bah, only $20K? What a piker. I blow that on coke every weekend."
But to me, it was good money. Of course, friends of mine were doing over $100K a month (some far more than that), so I was always low man on the totem pole.
Point is, when I hear folks saying they're making the big bucks, I always wonder if they have what it takes to keep it going. Making $500,000 in a month is awesome. But, it's impressive (to me) mostly as a novelty. Show me a guy or gal who is making $50,000 a month and has the fortitude to adapt and grow in the industry over the course of a decade and I'll be in awe.
There are folks out there (surely some on this board) who have been killing it every year since the 90's. Man, to me, that kind of longevity is impressive.
