Alright, before I begin, let's get all the 'why would anyone want to move to Jersey?' jokes out of the way. Alright. Done.

So some of my friends and I found a ridiculous 6 bedroom/4.5 bathroom mansion, not house...mansion for rent. The price is very reasonable if we can get 6 people to live there. We'd be looking at no more than $850/person depending on the room you get.

I've uploaded some pics I took of the house when we went to view it to my server here:

http://www.course-notes.org/misc/Houses.zip

As you can see from the pics, the ridiculousness of the house is well beyond what a bunch of young guys should be living in.

I'm gonna copy and paste what one of the other guys wrote for an intro letter:

About us - We’re clean people who like to have social gatherings in our home.

Pat:
Vowing to never leave Philadelphia, Patrick chose to continue his education there by attending La Salle University. Unfortunately, he was forced to leave his dream city when Johnson & Johnson forcefully ripped him away and threw him into the frightening state of New Jersey. Patrick is thankful for unicorns and marshmallows.

Chris O.:
Christopher grew up in Long Island, which helped to develop him into the phenomenal dancer that he is today. A graduate of Penn State, Chris has many friends probably. Despite being a victim or colorblindness, Chris defied all odds by managing to live a fairly normal life. In fact, he has a fashion sense that is well above what it should be. Chris’s adoration of accessories, particularly belt buckles, is surpassed by no one, either male or female.

Steve:
Stephen is also from Philadelphia, which makes him awesome. Stephen Wilson is the lone roommate that does not work for Johnson & Johnson. This makes him spite J&J, but he pretends to be our friend anyway. Instead he chose to work for a Public Relations firm in Parsippany, NJ after graduating from Seton Hall University. I swear to you, and I am completely serious, that Steve Wilson is the nicest person you will ever meet in your life.

Chris K. (Me):
Sharing initials with Calvin Klein, Chris is almost as successful. He has what professionals like to call “ambition”. This has led him to enjoy some of the finer things in life, like his nice black BMW. Still, Pat beat him home one night in his unflashy Honda Civic. Chris is in Corporate Internal Audit for this rotation so he does a lot of traveling. That means that if you end up disliking him, you will have to deal with him less. If you enjoy him, then those moments that he is here will be even more meaningful. Oh and he went to RPI, and he’s from Chicago or something.

Jamie:
Jamie likes to wear hats. Jamie likes Minnesota. Jamie’s name isn’t even really Jamie. Benjamin Ferdinand Rowland is a one of a kind kinda guy. There are two things he knows in life: every fact about Minnesota, and every fact about Notre Dame. He is ridiculous on the drums, and even better on them in Rock Band. He’s also the only guy so far with a really nice TV to bring into the house. You can probably guess his hometown and Alma Mater.

We'd be looking to move in June 1st. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

-Chris

ESSAY QUESTION
In 100 words or less, Define the term "Yoose Guys"

Um that is not a mansion

That's not a standard $400k house for the area. When I'm not at school in Missouri, I live literally 5 minutes away from that house. That's probably a $6-700k house in that area. $400k homes get you a LOT less (like ranch houses with a 2nd floor over half of the house).

Anyway, Chris, if most of you guys are working at J&J (New Brunswick HQ?), you might want to see what you can get in New Brunswick, itself. Sure, you'll find places that aren't as nice or as large, but the rent can be cheap (especially around Rutgers areas) and there's a ton to do in the area. If you want to go to a decent bar from the Franklin Park area, you've gotta drive into New Brunswick, which is probably about 15-20 minutes away.

Thanks for the first legit response haha

We're in a rotational program at J&J so we move around every 8 months. There are a bunch of different J&J locations in NJ. I'm currently at the New Brunswick HQ but there are also J&J locations in Piscataway, Raritan, Skillman, Titusville, Somerville, and Bridgewater. So Franklin Park is a good central location so no one needs to drive more than 30-40 mins to work regardless of where we move to.

But you're right, we do go out in New Brunswick for the bars and its like a $20 cab ride home, but split between 4-5 people its not that bad. Or one person just volunteers to sober drive and thats cool too.

That house would easily go for around 2mil in my neighborhood in NJ...housing in NJ are a lot more expensive than most of the country, especially the mid west/south/anywhere away from cities...

it's true that's about a $400k (upper-middle class) house in the midwest. especially with the siding.

Hahahaha... I'd be interested, except for the New Jersey part though.
No "shoobies" for me.

+rep to MedicalHumor for the diddy, though.
