How long is it taking for you to get ads approved? I just started trying to mess around with face book and it is taking forever to get my ads reviewed. Also, is it hard to get dating offers approved?

youre ads will be reviewed at around 12 PST and about every 3 hours then on till about 8pm at least that what ive been noticing

as for dating......pretty much no chance....

I see a ton of dating and diet. Do you think its just cloaking or how the hell are they getting through?

I'm running about 20 approved dating ads, at first it can seem like they would never in a million years approve a dating ad but here are some things you can cover to get your dating ads approved.

1) Your image can show barely no skin at all here is a screenshot of a few I got through, but just note a couple of these still took a couple re-submits to get by.

ads.png

"Provocative images will not be accepted."

"Ads may not contain, facilitate or promote adult content, including nudity, sexual terms and/or images of people in positions or activities that are excessively suggestive or sexual."

"Ads may not contain, facilitate or promote offensive, profane, vulgar, obscene, or inappropriate language."

"Ads may not contain, facilitate or promote defamatory, libelous, slanderous and/or unlawful content."

Basically why I've stuck to pretty much all faceshot's with my own ads - Also think cute but REAL women, not models, not playboy stars, not super fucking hot chicks you'll only ever dream about - Think REAL women, The more average but still cute/hot type that your much more likely to meet in real life.

2) "Ads may not utilize a user attribute, such as age, gender, or location, unless it is directly relevant to the offer."

This is a important guideline, another words your title cant say "25 and single?" and it can't say something like "Single in Vancouver, BC?" or something like that, but things like "Meet Sexy Singles" and/or "Want a Girlfriend?" are ok.

Also to remember your spelling, upper and lowercase letters, ect...., ect...., ect...

3) Your ad copy MUST and I mean MUST, well at least in my experience have the name of the company in the ad copy somewhere.

For instance if the landing page the user was going to was for JustLunch.com then my ad copy must mention JustLunch.com somewhere inside of it, so for example something like "Come meet thousands of singles at JustLunch.com" would get approved as where "Come meet thousands of singles online" would not get approved because it doesn't mention the company name.

This revolves around the following guidelines - "Ads must clearly state and represent the company, product, or brand that is being advertised."

4) "Adult friend finders or dating sites with a sexual emphasis" - Sites like Amateur Match, Friend Finder, Fling, are all sites which will get dis-approved because its too much sexual, think sites like mate1, eHarmoney, ect....

However this guideline is kind of funny because this next one conflicts with it in my own opinion.

"Ads with adult themes, including contraception, sex education, and health conditions must be targeted to individuals at least 18 years old."

5) "Ads for dating sites, services, or related content must follow these targeting criteria: (i) the Relationship Status targeting parameter must be utilized and set to Single, (ii) the Sex targeting parameter must be utilized and a single value of Male orFemale must be selected, (iii) the Age targeting parameter must be utilized and the age range selected must start at least 18 years old, (iv) the Interested In targeting parameter must be utilized and a single value of either Men or Women must be selected."

I think the above guideline pretty much explains itself.

Follow these few things and you'll get your dating ads approved, now I'm sure a few people will be pissed that I made things a little bit clear on FB dating ads but whatever the forum is about helping each other out and recently its been more of a go fuck yourself attitude to everything anyone is saying.

Aequitas you are awesome man. This really helped me out and I know some people are going to have a problem with it but thank you again man. This is invaluable information and you might want to make a post of it so they can add it to the Treasure Trove.

I've had almost all my dating ads approved. You just gotta follow their rules. It's that simple, really.

Also, Kevin just informed me that offers about making money on Google are no longer allowed on Facebook.

No work at home type offers have ever been allowed. People just cloak the fuck outta them and get their "part-time jobs" or "get paid to type" ads approved.

Alright, just got back into facebook again, and after quitting a month or so ago because of the disapproving chaos, even though I was adding an additional grand a day to my wallet. Luckily, I was able to get several dating ads approved on my second attempt, but the campaign itself isn't looking too great after a couple hundred clicks at the moment.

What I do have to suggest is don't submit all of the same AD in a row. What I did was have 6 different niche ads, and pretty much re-submit each one randomly, not the same ad 5x in the row. By doing this, I got the majority of my AD's approved.

Since, most likely if the intern is seeing 50x dating ads in a row, he checks the first 10 and disapproves them, then he will probably just auto disapprove the other 40 without taking a look.

Also Sohan, you seem to be doing well with FB. What type of CTR would you say is sufficient enough so the traffic doesn't dry up after sometime?

I agree I've noticed that sometimes if submitting a bunch of ads it appears like they only look at the first couple and if there dis-approved they will auto-disapprove the rest of them.

Also just to add my CTR for dating ads is usually in the range of 0.1 to 0.2, I've been averaging 0.17 for awhile now and my max bids are set below the suggested max bid by the system, however when I started going good with my dating ads I was averaging a 200% ROI which has now fallen to about a 130 to 150% ROI.

I figure if I can stay above 100% ROI its still worth paying for, but then again my campaigns are targeted to one specific country and I need to branch out to a few others and test to see if those numbers will rise or fall, not to mention I've gotta increase my split testing.

I don't think this is all necessarily true. I think they are able to view all the ads you submitted at once. For example, I have an offer that always gets approved and I submitted about 50 ads at once. In those 50 ads I put a weightloss ad in the middle. Sure enough every ad except the weightloss ad got approved.

Thanks for the answer. 0.20% doesn't seem overly difficult to attain.

If you don't mind me asking, how much are you currently averaging for your CPC. My impressions dry up any time I go under 0.30 cents for dating.

I see. Unfortunately we don't know exactly how the ads are shown to reviewers, and in what behavior they review ads, best we can do is assume ways.

In your case, I would say that they are able to separate the ads that all came from the same submit a similar ad button. So when they look at the system, they would see all those 50 ads in one section, and that other 1 in another section.

There can also be filters, in which any mention of "diet" or " lose weight"; appears in a different section when reviewing, and so on.

But like I said, all we can do is assume.

Here is a few stats from one of my ads.

Max CPC: 0.18
Impressions: 663,769
Clicks: 1,102
CTR: 0.17
Average CPC: 0.15
Spent: $166.64
Made: $295.80
Profit: $129.16

This is around 80% ROI right now, this started to fall off this week but I'm keeping it going because this one was doing really well for awhile and after testing some more combo's I'm sure I can turn it around.

Anyway those are a few stats you can compare with, I've got some newer ones which are doing a stable 200% ROI but haven't been running very long and have some which are doing a good 150% ROI which have been running a decent amount of time.

Still testing and gathering data to try and find the trend when they start to tail off and go downhill, ect.... But I usually keep them going until they go lower then 100% ROI and I don't feel like I can keep them from going lower, after that I shut em down and start up a bunch more in there place and ride the next wave.

Thanks for posting that. Over what time period are those stats representing? Since if its for all this week, then it doesn't seem worthwhile to try out, since $100+ profit from 2-3 is too little for a headache.

Those stats are over 1 week, but I had my daily budget low - $30 to $50 but never more then $50/day for this campaign.

I was more or less getting a feel for this particular dating offer and your right $100 profit in a week isn't worth the headache but I find once you gather a bit of data and know which is your top performing ads are then its easy to increase your daily budget to get the traffic and start increasing those daily profits.

Basically when I'm doing this (On offers I don't have a lot of data on) I'll set a low daily budget, let it go for a good week to slowly gather the data I need, once I have that data, I stop all my split-testing, create a new campaign with only the highest converting ads (Usually the ones which also have a decent CTR) and then increase the daily budget and continue to do a/b testing on those top converting ads.

If you've got the money to spend, dating offers on Facebook can easily generate a 150 - 200% ROI.

I'm not sure what ROI is acceptable for you but I'm happy with ranges above 100%.

But just to be clear if I get a 100% ROI on $100 that means I made $200 - $100 of that profit, I know some people calculate ROI differently by saying a 100% ROI is breaking even - Had that discussion lots with peeps in the past haha.

I'm also in the process of creating a new custom script to help automate my split testing on facebook so I'll be able to cut down the timeframe it takes to put up new ads, test, ect.... that way even if I only get a 100% ROI on a lower amount of ad spend it benefits that I wouldn't have to spend a lot of time to make that, pretty much trying to automate a large majority of it and just send hourly updates to my email and phone - There is so much you can do with it haha.
