Ok I am sick of seeing all this shit about people asking what a niche is how do i find them blah...blah...whine...whine. Today I found the absolute perfect example and decided to do a big ass blog post on it. Which you can read at Finding a Niche for Noobs & Pros | Beer Monies - Making Money Online To Pay Bar Tabs Since 08'

I gave out the niche, the keywords, the products everything I could possibly think of to make some noob realize what the hell a real niche is and how to promote it.

Yes it is a shameless self promotion for my new blog (see butt plug icon), but hey im trying here. no ebooks, no bullshit, just trying to write quality content and yes the eBay link is a aff link. Go buy shit and give me $ or clear your cookies ;).

wow, now that's a niche and good article. I though I was dialed in with my Dirty Sanchez mustache remover. Guess I gotta get more creative.

If you think you're getting too narrow your probably just starting to get close.
 
I just wanted to say thank you. Not because I needed a diagram on how to find a niche, but because what you wrote help me find some perfect seo links. :) (without getting too specific.)
 
One of the problems that I have faced, and judging from the looks of other local niche sites, is the burnout of what to write about. While the local niche site is a great idea, it is hard to compete with the “big boys” of the newspapers and television stations for getting the scoop of news.
So, what do you write about to increase your readership and potential for adsense or advertising revenue? How do you write in order to create income with your local niche site?

Great niche. I think thats what a lot of newbies fail to realize is that we're here to promote products that fix peoples problems. Something they find helpful in some way.

This is the kind of teachings a lot of us newbs need. You can tell us to "find a niche" all you want but we really don't know how to tell when something's a niche or what to do next. This was very helpful and some of us can STFU now. :)
 
aww people can be so hard on noobs trying to make money I know they ask so many dumb questions but anyway not to get off topic but i think that was awesome the problem with finding a good niche is you just don't know how profitable it will be and you tend to second guess yourself

Also thanks for the great comments guys. I was half expected on getting flamed or being asked about my ebook despite the quality of the information in the article. I glad its helped clear stuff up for anyone having trouble.

Id also like to mention that I got a comment on the blog that asked how to find items to promote once you find a niche. I posted a reply to it on the blog you might want to check that out to. I might do a proper post on the subject after asw.
