The propaganda is pretty thick these days. It's pretty interesting reading Haaretz, a leading Israeli newspaper, which is a lot more fair and balanced about the Israel/Palestine conflict than Fox or MSNBC.

In Israel, people acknowledge that they hate Palestinians and likewise, and that the two sides should dust it up until there is a last man standing. People accept that, right or wrong.

In the western media, it's some big morality play of good vs. evil, and ideology and such. It's sorta sick how we entertain ourselves by making things out to be what they clearly are not.

Read Haaretz. I don't like a lot of Israeli policies but that is a top notch newspaper. Better than the NY Times.

Peaceful nations should just come together and see statistics which countries have started the most wars, which have been in the war for way too long and which are just fucking around. Then they should make a map, draw some areas where to drop the nuclear bombs, take a photocopy of that map, send it to the governments of those countries, give them few months to stop fucking around, also give peaceful citizens time to evacuate and if peace doesn't come, start blasting. Just wipe those nations off the map. World would be much better place without few unnamed countries. Countries that go to war for profit or for hate. Yes, I think USA would be the first one to feel the blast of blind justice.

Yeah I know, very unrealistic but you can always hope while some people are trying to talk to countries who have been in the war for the last 20 years. Oh yes, that's gonna stop soon...

I already read Haaretz frequently.

While people in Israel may not like Palestinians, they don't have hate propaganda on their TV channels with cartoon characters telling children to grow up and become martyrs and kill Palestinians. They don't send their children into the West Bank and Gaza on suicide missions to kill civilians. The leaders of Israel don't call upon Jews around the world to strike civilian islamic sites near them.

There is a clear difference between two groups not liking one another, and one group teaching children from birth that they will go to heaven with 70 virgins if they kill civilians on the other side.

Not to mention that they kill/wound their own people just in case they may decide to talk to Israel (Hamas moves on Fatah 'collaborators' | Middle East | Jerusalem Post)

If that's not good vs. evil, I'm not quite sure what is. Sure the good side may have to do some 'evil' things to win, but when you're dealing with people who believe that G-d told them to blow themselves and other people up, what other options do you have?

I don't have much military experience at all, but watching some of the videos and the descriptions makes me think about whether or not it would be at all possible to "extract" all the intelligence necessary to perform all of these attacks with "surgical" precision. Especially considering the relative short time span. I think my personal favorite was the one where they carry an injured child across the border to receive proper medical attention. They make sure to inform the viewers that the child was not harmed as a result of operation cast lead..

Now consider this. For every link in the chain of information there is a success ratio. You know, like a ctr. I'm pretty sure that an operation as big as this, would have to have quite a few "front line" informants to get enough information to base the decisions on. And I'm pretty sure that each piece of information or intelligence needs to reach a certain level in the chain of command before a decision is made to bomb the mosque. So.. do some math to see for your self what seems logical to you.. I think they are making up most of this...
 
Saw a fox news link and chose not to click on it.

Google needs to make a fox news translator. Everything they say it translates it into the exact opposite, so up = down, good = bad, terrorist = nonrepublican, so you get the real news.

the situation on the ground here is complex, what we need more than anything is a strong and brave Barack Obama willing to go in this conflict and force an agreement on both sides. we all how this agreement will look like for more than 10 years but this stupid dumb ass fuck texan shithole in the white house is a sooo narrow minded to understand this simple truth. He only used Israel to prove his genius "fight terror with terror" theory.

oh, and if you have nothing to say - "erasing israel and palestine" doesn't make you look cool. You can either learn about it or simply shut up.

Here's what i don't get...

Did fox news provide a script for those videos? Did they tell the son of the founding member of Hamas what to say? To put his life on the line by saying those things?

It's a freaking video of the son of the founding member of Hamas saying what the organization is really all about. How is that a biased by Fox news? Because they decided to report it while other news networks don't want people to sympathize with Hamas so they won't report this story?

Pretty ignorant statement.

The Israeli government, and the majority of the Jewish Israeli population, are not observant jews. They probably have less religious government policies than the united states.

And they for sure don't have any religious mandates against Arabs/ Palestinians...

Okay I wasn't going to post here, but comments like this need to moderated, I'm all for a bit of light-hearted racism now and again, but this is plain offensive and unnecessary and shows and clear lack of understanding of the subject.

Sure I disagree with what Israel are doing, but it is a completely legitimate country, unlike Gaza which is run by a terrorist organisation.

Also, don't bring your granddad into this, I don't care how old he is.

Since when did Israel kill over 300 innocent civilians?

If HAMAS is reporting about 450 dead, and they say maybe 25% are "civilians", how does that equal 300?

Mind you that these are numbers reported from HAMAS, who employs propaganda as a military tactic of psycological warfare. I doubt that it's as high as 25%.

But let's say it is, show me any other war that the US has conducted (or any other country) where the civilian casualty rate was that low. Now factor in that hamas is fighting from densly populated civilian territory and using civlians as human shields. 25% is unheard of.

Additionally Hamas fighters dress in civilian clothes so when they are killed they can say that it was just a regular civilian.

If you honestly think 300 "innocent civilians" have been killed then looks like Hamas' job is easier than they think...
