Actually it probably won't be. There have been means to fund online gambling for a while besides credit cards. I don't know a lot about it, I just know some people who know a lot more about it then me say it is silly.

There are things like phone cards you can use to fund accounts, for example.

indeed. This is absolutley stupid law. I can't imagine where on the Internet these morons will set their target next.

I'm suprised they haven't hit the porn industry as much as they said. What happened to that .xxx domain extension that was supposed to be the requirement?

Anyway, I heard that dating sites will be next. and criminal background checks will soon be mandatory. now that sounds like an inconvenience...

heh, I want to venture into adult to hedge against the possible downtown in mainstream advertising (one would think that porn would do well in hard times), but the legal situation looks quite perilous. Stupid fucking regulations!

Drusam, there are dating sites that have background checks. I have used this as a selling point for some dating stuff, my conversions went up about 12% so...
I am a proud Republican (athiest, who is ok with porn and people being gay, hell they were born that way!) but sometimes we can be total fucktards!

DRUSAM, voting Libertarian is a nobel goal but what that will do is put some Dumbnocrat who thinks my money is his to spend in office. Atleast history shows that 3rd parties hurt the Republicans more than the Dems for obvious reasons

It looks like the Screwballs in congress need a scare of some sorts. Let them know we are still breathing. The republicans in 96 were fine, this batch isn't following the plan we all want them to.

Ugh. that's the thing though chris. We have to end this 2 party system. I don't see a huge difference between the Dems and Reps anymore. Both are passing shit left and right, and spending more of our tax dollars than ever. I'm frustrated because my generation is going to be paying out the ass in the long run for all this. It has to end somewhere.

joe, I think we have a lesser of 2 evils, the Republicans however are a billion % better than the dumbnocrats! that truely scares me! Can you see nancy pelosi(sp?) running congress? the woman has never had an original idea in her life! and Reid? that bastard is a pussy, he was the guy that ran to the teacher when someone took his ball instead of taking his ball back!

DruSam, there was a tax cut put in place by Bush, that saved the economy and the market is almost at an alltime high! but there is alot of spending that is true.
However you have to be realistic, between elections is when the 2 party system has to end. if you do it during an election well it will not get the desired result!

oh and I can tell the difference between a dem and a rep, the dems are a bunch of Lee's were the reps are a bunch of Jon's
was that bad?

The republicans aren't going to lose the whole fucking thing. The democrats are too brain dead to come up with a counter attack. The republicans may lose several seats. That may be a good thing, as it may shake some sense into them.

Personally, I'm voting republican accross the board because the reps in my district have been doing a decent job.

I just have a problem with their social shit and reckless spending (not my reps). I agree that the Dems would be much worse. With them in charge we would be fed green and social program bullshit until we turned purple.

Voting Libertarian can only help.

Here's why:

By voting for the only party that wants goverment to be smaller and personal freedom to grow, you tell the dems and repubs that freedom is important.

By voting for the lesser of the 2 evils (personally I see them as equal evils) you are encouraging them to run with their meglomanical government intrusion.

Elections are usually won by a few % points. If you vote libertarian you will force both parties to spend less, repeal intrusive laws, and respect personal freedom. Otherwise they are doomed to lose every election.

Keep in mind, the only voters that really count are the swing voters.

Karnul - fine, then show me enough Libertarian candidiates that don't make me go, what planet are you from? the candidates for a 3rd party need to represent themselves better, most are just too out in left field for most people on issues othere than smaller gov. etc. get enough candidates of better quality then start voting for them. Now thow you take your vote away from the republican and well the shit will hit the fan!

american politics sounds just as shit as uk politics. 2 partys both the same with 1 odd ball party.

Anyway have you seen how much the gambling stock as fallen party gaming is 58% down or something, do you think its good to buy now? I mean these sites will still have us users as they are addicted and I can't see them going elsewhere. The us trying to control the net is a joke, I am sure the gambling sites will have the next batch of politcians in thier pockets. haha

Actually 888 and party poker are both talking about closing their US operations as the bill makes it illegal to take money for gambling from US citizens -

Just as an aside this was aparantly tagged onto a bill about protecting ports - how is that related to online gambling -

It seems like a nanny state gone mad, did those of you who voted for those politicians ask them to vote for this law?
