(i hope im posting this in the right area)hey everyone, im working on a new website (Division 1 Movers) with a friend. we are trying to beta test the site and see what people think. PLEASE check out the site and provide any feedback. I want to see if it is clear to any visitor exactly what we do and how to become a customer.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH

The Good: Seems like an innovative spin on a traditional service. People need what you're selling. Sign up was fairly obvious; it was not however ,intuitive.

The bad: The landing page was an assault on my eyes. It reminded me of a thirteen year old's bryce3d project pre-render.

No, I didn't know what the hell you were selling at first. I figured it out pretty quickly but still I have to believe that people dont want the landing page on a moving website to be cryptic.

I don't like some of the design choices that you've made. This sticks out because one, Ive been working with graphics and interfaces for 10+ years, and two because I hardly ever notice a site's design unless its very good or very bad.

The inner site itself was passable if a little bit gaudy, but the landing page told me to expect cheap things ahead.

The paypal bablefish and godaddy stuff is all important to have I guess, but the way the badges are presented reminded me of the pages I used to see on angelfire years ago.

Sloppy, thrown together a hurry by someone with no sense of aesthetics, and thus no credible authority on whatever the subject of the site might be.

My advice; fire the designer. If you're the designer I mean no offense, get the thing done right.

If the poor design of your site is causing me to question the quality of your service, you're going to lose every time.

Try torching the state locations and going more with the college logos. Especially given the school pride that's rampant in universities, I suspect that alone will bump clickthrough. Once you get past that original lander all looks well though.

Disclaimer: I suck at design. This is just my impression.

I didn't like the landing page...the bevel on the state border was way too much.

The colors didn't go either.

you need a professional designer to design it for you.

too big for 800 x 600 resolutions. A must with college kids, using shitty school and library macs. Ditch the whole florida map, just show the school logos.

Oh is that what that was? I thought it was a map of something. Maybe to op could try the same idea using a combination of google maps and that sketch up app they have.
