Hi,
I do quite a bit of affiliate marketing, but this is one area i haven't really ventured into...

you know the types of email submits/zip submits/software downloads (like the webfetti (Webfetti - Add FREE Customized Layouts, Generators, Graphics and Bling to Your Page! (not my affiliate link, just first one in google)) that you see on myspace (so ringtone sort of stuff too)

does anyone promote them on the adwords content network? do they make big keyword lists (everything from "britney spears myspace layouts" to "myspace house photos" or any other random stuff), just to get thousands of impressions, and lots of clicks? if so, do you send them direct to the landing page? or some kind of presell mini landing page?

i've tried doing this (lots of kw, on content network, for webfetti, had a few conversions and about breaking even). but can't get many clicks... the ctr is horrible (<0.5%)...tried with loads of variations of ads. i cant raise max cpc because its only just breaking even...

if anyone does this, how do they scale it?

thanks

i've tried that stuff on the content network aswell, had a horrible ctr like 0.1% for something i cant remember... its just too untargeted. its possible to do well but nobodys going to tell us how.. gotta find out for ourselves.

The secret lies in targetting your ads so they show up on myspace. But not just on myspace a certain area of the screen is more sucessful than others for this offer.

i'm not posting to ask for a set of kw, ad copy etc (or anything close). Just about the general idea behind it. is it something that is popular?

Yea...I ran this a little bit. I believe this particular campaign does not allow direct linking...check with your AM. It did pretty lousy in ppc to be honest, so I quit running it there. I am still running it, in other places....look into running it where your target audience would be instead of ppc....just my 2 cents. Good Luck!

There are people making a small fortune from this offer, believe me. As I said the secret lies in site targetting the offer to websites where the offer would be welcomed. The keyword part is actually very easy.

hmm, interesting.
is it generally better to send direct to their landing page or make a landing page then send them to the "real" one?

with copeac, is there any way to make your own landing page for email/zip submits, and somehow do the form on your page (on your server) but send it "Through" to the offers page. if that makes sense?

Improve on their landing page.

Tip : People dont want to have to scroll down to the call for action. Have the call to action as the first thing they see.

With regards to COPEAC, yes its possible you need to make sure all your form elements are named exactly as they are on the original form and any dropdowns are populated exactly as they are with the exact values on the original and then just call the form processing script from the form action once the user clicks the submit button.
