Only NNNNN.com's available are on the aftermarket now. Congrats to all those who bought some of the 100,000 available NNNNN.com's. Good investment.

N = number
L = letter

in domain terms.

So, NNNNN.com is number number number number number .com

Or all five digit number domains with the .com tld are gone.

so where is the honey in 5-dig.-com's? imho 45784.com it's not an investment. it's bullshit.

I don't understand the value in this, other than buying with the intention to sell to other speculative domainers. I understand the value of type-in keyword.com domains, but #####.com just doesn't make any sense to me.

Value of NNNNN.com's

There are many uses for these domains. In addition to US zip codes (about 60,000), there are foreign postal codes (Germany, Kuwait, Sweden, Italy, Czech Republic, and many more), birthdays, part numbers, lucky numbers, you name it. These are especially big in Asia, where numbers are very important. Also, these domains are very scarce, only 100,000 total compared to over 450,000 LLLL.com’s. Even before the buyout, good US zip codes went for $x,xxx. Also, 173.com (not an NNNNN.com but an indicator of the value of numerics in general) went for over $300,000 last week.

As an example, I looked at the first 100 1NNNN.com’s, and they are mostly developed websites. About 40 are Marchex-owned US zip code web sites, and the following 20 are developed for all sorts of purposes, US businesses, Chinese business and social sites, zip-code related businesses, and others.

One thing to note is the interesting use of numbers related to a particular product, like adequate.org using 10015.com because of the ISO 10015 quality assurance standard, and Timberland.com using the popular boot number. There are lots of productive and creative uses for numeric domains!

Yeah there were a bunch of sales and prices seem steady for now. Minimum about $15
All drops get caught and many are sold on snapnames for $20+

Since the buyout, I've received several offers to buy NNNNN.com's in my portfolio, but I'm holding for now, since I think prices will continue to rise, much like the LLLL.com's. After the buyout, the LLLL.com's started going for 2x reg fee and then steadily climbed over the next few months to where they are now.

wow ... that must be some really big time investment ! all the NNNNN's

Actually, there are a very small number of these. The buyout happened very fast because there were only about 20,000 left a couple weeks ago and people are realizing that numerics have a lot of value, and combined with the scarcity of these NNNNN.com's, that's a great investment, possibly even better in the long term than buying LLLL.com's a few months ago, and those have become worth about 10x reg fee now even for non-premium letters. Already on snapnames NNNNN.com's are being bid up to $15-20 for random letters, so it is clear people are realizing the potential of these numerics.
