Third wave intersectional feminist cancer ruined what used to be the liberal party, displacing lefties that believe in individualism and free speech in favor of marxism and censorship.

Interesting to note a similar phenomenon on the right too, where many fiscal and religious conservatives have been displaced by the corporate republicans, who keep them docile and milk them for lucrative war contracts using the Orwellian tactic of endless, baseless wars. The very expensive and bloody war machine is a tough pill to swallow for many in the party formerly of small government and christian values.

So on both sides there are large groups of people not being represented by their party. It seems like a serious third and maybe a fourth option surely will become more and more necessary and viable, should be interesting to see it all unfold.

The best part of the reddit post was learning the guys who made the statues were the douches that made bumfights, then finding an AMA from the guy where I saw:

Thanks, but that kid on Dr. Phil was not involved in Bumfights. We sold the rights and a bunch of rich kids from Las Vegas kept doing publicity. He died of an overdose a few weeks later.

Holy shit that video is either really good tv or the worst tv ever. Maybe both.
But these statues are getting so much praise from leftist media that they could have been created by the Aryan brotherhood and it wouldn't matter.

So I went digging too, turns out the same group that commissioned the statues did this mural:

The mental gymnastics involved in justifying that as progressives; as the same people whining about a supposed American rape culture is pretty mind blowing.
 
i happened upon a CNN segment where they had a quadrant of panelists ripping trump on his response to DWade's cousin getting murdered via drive-by in chicago (what a shock). The black male panelist said "what's important is that this isn't a black thing or a chicago thing, this happens in rural white communities everywhere too."

that's laughable on so many levels, its ridiculous. but being uber-lefty CNN, nobody said shit, took that for fact, and lamented his terrible plight ("whitey be racist, aw lawsy").

that's the level of our "news" now. don't get me wrong, Fox does the same.

There is nowhere that we can get unfiltered news. Its all entertainment now.

Being pro open borders, anti police brutality, and pro free trade are all extremely libertarian ideals, but somehow the person in this video has managed to be against all three, and has attacked Gary Johnson for supporting them.

The person in that video is not a libertarian, he's an alt righter. And honestly, as a libertarian it is alarming to me that populists and white nationalists are trying to co-opt the libertarian movement.

are you afraid of libertarian ideas 'catching on' with the masses and becoming relevant in popular circles? are you so used to the idea of being underground that anything 'above ground' makes you nervous? god forbid libertarianism gets some traction, then its no longer a 'movement', and you've lost your identity.

I think you've misidentified me entirely. I am thinking the exact opposite. I love Gary Johnson because he is taking libertarianism and making it remotely palatable to the mainstream. I think Gary Johnson/Bill Weld is the ideal ticket for spreading libertarian ideals because it gets the ideas of libertarianism out there without making libertarians seem like underground crazies. I am getting excited at the idea of socially moderate Republicans potentially backing libertarians, and that Gary Johnson may actually reach 15% and get included in the debates.

I however am not interested in populist alt right reactionaries pretending they are libertarian because they talk about the "non aggression principle" while really just spewing nativism and white nationalism - which has absolutely nothing to do with libertarianism. I am pro globalization and free trade, as should any libertarian, and as should anyone in the (very global) industry of internet marketing. If a movement, party, or candidate has xenophobic undertones, I am no longer interested.

So it pains me to see a bunch of xenophobes trying to pretend they are libertarians in order to undermine the actual libertarian candidate.

well said. can't argue with most of that... except the bit about you getting excited. you're too sharp to get that emotionally involved in a game designed for imbeciles. politics as a trade is run to sway the swayable, those who don't (can't) know better. i respect your intellect, and as such, i'm surprised to see you this vested.
