Sadly I know the rules of wheel of fortune (My mom loved watching this show nightly as I was growing up).. All that 1 million dollar space does is add a million dollar card to the bonus wheel (normally the highest amount on the bonus round wheel is 100k).. And the only way you go to the bonus round is to have the highest amount of cash won at the end of the show (that 1 million dollar doesnt go towards his total, it just to add a million dollar card somewhere on the wheel)

So even if he had gotten it right, he STILL had to have the highest cash + prize total to even go to the bonus round. Then he has to spin the bonus round wheel which has like 15 different cards, and get lucky and hit that million dollar card.. THEN he has the guess the bonus puzzle correctly.

So don't think just because he mispronounced Achilles (which is unfuckingbelievable, but shit happens when you're nervous on national TV) he instantly missed out on the million dollars. Far from it.

Interesting, but he also fucked up on a free car and trips to London and Jamaica. I nearly felt ill listening to them, I can only imagine how the poor guy felt when he heard that buzzer. And Pat was pretty cold to him.

If he said Achilles right he would'be got to keep the million dollar card. He'd then have to win and make it to the bonus round. Then in the bonus round one of the cards in the bonus wheel is replaced with the million dollar card. He'd then have to land on that card when he spins. If successful, he'd still have to solve the bonus puzzle, and then he'd get a million dollars.

I doubt mispronouncing Achilles actually cost him a million dollars, since he failed miserably in the other rounds also.

I should've refreshed before replying.

Don't blame your mom for your WOF addiction. The bonus round wasn't done like this when you were growing up, unless you're like 18.

Yeah, I understand, but I just "liked" Mr Jacksonian's post correcting me instead of editing my post. (bugs me when other people do that)

I relied on a sensational FB title someone showed me before I posted that comment, and I certainly shouldn't do that.
