"I am traumatized by the screams of the sea lion Fernandez," says the 80-year-old Ms. Nevezeel who lives next to Artis Zoo. "I am of Jewish descent and had to go into hiding during the war. Now I have to go into hiding again, I am afraid to open my windows and doors. " Nevezeel stepped to the Council of State to change the policies of Artis Zoo.

In 2010, it was a beautiful summer at the Entropotdok in Amsterdam. "It was so hot that summer," said Nevezeel. "But I could not open up my doors." Every time Nevezeel and her 84-year-old man wanted to enjoy the sun, their peace is disturbed by the cries of the sea lion Fernandez.

The male lion, transferred from the zoo in Berlin to Amsterdam's Artis, made the sounds to attract female sea lions "The whole day he shouted. We were quite disturbed. We contacted Artis, but we we're treated very rude. They said it was natural behavior and they tried to encourage that."

Fernandez was moved in March 2013 to a zoo in Tenerife, but the fear in house Nevezeel remained. "We have called our lawyer. We are so afraid that soon a new male sealion is placed back and we will be locked up in our house again."

The municipality says there is not much they can do. "An animal has no power button," 'said during a hearing.

And I'd like to say that I don't give a shit if someone is racist, I think it's stupid but racism in and of itself doesn't bug me... it's just another manifestation of human stupidity.
