Got the money, and I got another $15 donation as well.
As far as the card goes, I was thinking something simple and classic like:
"Please accept our heartfelt condolences on the loss of your loved one"
but I'm open to any ideas anybody has.
I've gotten $90 in donations so far, so we are getting there. With a few more donations we could really send him something nice.

At this point I'm thinking that we need to be especially sincere so that he doesn't misunderstand the gesture as a troll.
Maybe something like:
"Although we don't always see eye to eye on the way the SERPS should look, we all know how difficult it is to lose a loved one, and we'd like to extend our deepest sympathies to you in your time of sorrow"
you know, something upfront like that to let him know that we are sincere, because if we just put something short and sweet with no reference to the longstanding animosity here, he's going to think we are trolling him.

How about something like this:
"We here at WickedFire know how difficult it is to loose a loved one and for that reason, differences aside, would like to extend our deepest sympathies in your time of sorrow and loss. Please accept this as a token of our sincerity."
If you can customize the card, maybe matte black with the WickedFire logo on one side, and have them put it on one of those plastic card holders (looks like a fork) so it stands up in the middle of the flowers. He would probably recognize that logo anywhere lol.

Or pay extra for FTD to sprinkle a little Cayenne pepper in there. Nothing too damaging, just some eye watering and sneezing for about 30 minutes. I'm in. Let's send the poor guy something nice for his loss.
