I feel unbelievably dumb right now.
So, I sold a digital camera via Gumtree which is a variant of Ebay/Craigslist in the UK. The buyer was someone who lived in the Uk but wanted the camera shipped to Nigeria because his Godson was working there. We never met up, but he sounded legit. BEFORE I shipped the camera he insisted I request the money via Paypal and he paid up. The payment was 190+20 for shipping. Which he all paid for.
I get an email saying once I've provided the tracking number to Paypal, I will be accredited with the money.
I THEN check the actual emailer and find out that 'service@paypal.co.uk' is a scam email.
I called Paypal and they said there's nothing they can do as I only requested payment. There is no payment from the buyer.
I called Royal Mail and keep getting referred to automated message.
I went to the post office and they said they can't stop the package unless I go to the international depot in person with the receipt I got.
