Hello everyone!

First I’d like to say sorry if I posted this in the wrong area or if this is not an appropriate thing to post, as I’m extremely new to this. I would be more than happy to move this or delete it if necessary, just let me know.

I wanted to see if anyone had any marketing ideas or marketing resources for my products that they might want to try out with them.

My website can be found at http://www.zazzle.com/zipperedflags

Essentially what I did was make custom versions of world flags, which creates 297 niche product markets. Obviously I work with zazzle.com to showcase products, so as well as naturally having a high volume of designs; all of the images are available on hundreds of products. You can choose anything from t shirts, hoodies, phone cases, laptop skins, pillows, napkins and tons of other things. Additionally, you can promote a specific product, a whole section, or the whole store.

As most of you know, Zazzle has an associates program. You can add your associate ID to the link for my products and make a whopping 15% commission on the sales. Additionally, if the customer chooses to buy anything from Zazzle at all you still make the commission, and the referral cookie lasts for 45 days! Zazzle also offers volume bonuses of up to 17%!
(More about the associates program here http://www.zazzle.com/sell/affiliates)

I’m working on marketing myself but currently my situation is becoming pretty dire. My mother and I were victims of the unemployment surge; the classic story you hear consistently on the news of professionals losing their jobs and being unable to re-employ themselves. I am a former electronics engineer, and she is a former contract administrator for international laboratories. As of last week she has lost her unemployment, and I am dangerously close to losing mine. Being the self-motivated individuals we are, we have decided just to pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps and get back on track on our own.

However, if we don’t drum up some serious sales in the next month all the dominoes are going to fall.

So it would be great if anyone reading this can help with any of the following:

1. Advertise our products with their affiliate link. This is really the best option, as both parties will benefit from it. I know some of you have massive twitter and facebook accounts, so it would be really easy to just pick something you like (product, section, or the whole store) and share/tweet it with your associate ID.

2. Mention us on your website with your affiliate link.

3. Work your magic in any way you can and net yourself a couple of extra bucks by advertising our products. I’m sure you guys know some super cool stuff that I don’t.

4. I would be more than willing to fill any requests for custom products any of you would want to advertise for. I am an expert designer and I can manifest any idea you have.

5. Like my facebook page or follow me on twitter. http://www.facebook.com/artampersand https://twitter.com/#!/kirbyartand

I assure you we will make it on our own, but as I said we are reaching a thresh hold we can’t recover from. We need some sales to avoid foreclosure and eviction, and we are pretty desperate at the moment.

I am far from a marketing expert, and you guys are the internet marketing gods so I thought I might present you with an opportunity. I appreciate everyone’s time and thank you for reading this, and big thanks for any help you might be able to offer.

Where do you live OP?

You might not be as far from a marketing expert as you think.

I live in Seattle currently, relocating to Portland in June. I'm definitely not an expert! Just a smart SOB trying to keep his head above water

Let me get this straight, you're about to lose your job, your mom / wife / sister / whoever just lost their job, you have bills piling up, and you know nothing about internet marketing?

Self-motivate your ass to the unemployment line. Brush up your resume. Suck dick in alleyways. Deal drugs. Don't fucking come onto this forum and just beg for a handout. That's beyond bullshit.

I don't ball out online, far from it. But like a huge number of people here I quietly grind away trying to figure out what's true, what's false, and what's a mystery. A HUGE part of that is fucking working at it and trying shit and failing. Fail, fail, fail until you succeed. This forum is beyond a resource to me, it's literally the center of my nascent marketing world. There are guys who ball the fuck out and the fact that they're willing to spend five minutes glancing at a thread of mine or responding to a question means a lot to me. When you come here and fucking beg, bitch, and whine, it makes a lot of these guys think "why the fuck do I do this?" And, if they stop answering my questions, MY life gets a lot more difficult and the forum that I rely for information, laughs, and support goes away.

So, fuck you. Do your own work, your own research, and stop asking for people to hand you a $50k or $100k / year business. It won't happen. If you want some false hope, head over to Warriorforum and buy some WSOs.

Your probably just some dumbfuck bot, but jesus christ did that get me riled up.

One, not a bot.

Two I think I said I'm desperate AND working hard to get ahead.

Three I don't think I asked for a handout, that would imply that there would be nothing in it for the other party.

Four I definitely said I'm in the unemployment line, but seriously the situation is becoming impossible. I'm required to fill out a job log so I'm one way or another trying to find a job. You act like I enjoy being unemployed?

Five it was just an offer extended to a community that currently knows way more than I do about marketing. I thought it might be an easy thing if people knew about it to just post on their social networks, making a couple of extra bucks helping a guy get his name out.

Six SORRY if I offended you, I did prefix the post saying I'm new to all of these communities and I don't know what is kosher. But you have officially burned more calories flaming me than it would have taken to post something to your social networks. On top of that flaming me doesn't net you any money.

I wouldn't ask anyone to do anything I couldn't do myself. I'm working on it, I'm trying and I'm failing. Everyday I get a little bit further. I just figured communities like to see their members succeed, so I thought maybe people would see this and think "okay hes trying, he just needs a little boost right this very second"

I'm not whining, its not a sob story. Plain and simple I just need a quick one two punch to my marketing strategies.

Last 15% commission IS a lot depending on the scope of your reach. You can make $8.00 a sale on most of the products. I did not expect this negative of a response!

I'm not trying to flame you, but seriously what the hell man? I don't think I did anything to elicit a response like that.

TL;DR But you need to read up on how to do this shit yourself. No one here is interested in marketing shit products on zazzle. Save up some of your gov handout moolah and do a low cost media buy on a blog network that caters to your ideal demographic.

1) Find blog network
2) Create ad within terms of said network
3) Pay for ad placement
4) ????? (In your case, since you're unemployed and on the Gov dole, you could ideally, masturbate between refreshing your stats page all day, just like us Gay Webmasters here on WF)
5) Profit

I feel sorry for the OP, so here it is spelled out for you:

You are being ridiculed because you bring very little to the table yet expect to keep the lions share of the pie. Your shitty little site is exactly that, a shitty little site.

It is like me saying, hey guys, I just bought xyz at costco, I'm going to sell it at 2x, and if you help me, I'll give you 15% of sales. No one would do it because if they are going to spend time on it, they could just cut you out of the equation.

I think the idea is a little nifty, but I have strong doubts as to its commercial viability. Mostly because people when buying patriotic shit prefer to buy from patriotic places, not places that randomly have shit from all over the world. But there are other reasons (like you don't actually have any of the product in stock, so you have a small profit margin and therefore can't afford to compete on the open market)

My suggestion; learn about online marketing, try shit and when you have specific questions, ask them here. But not before researching, 99.999% of your questions have been answered and the information is out there.

Coming here with your hat in hand asking for 'help' because your store isn't magically getting visitors will not get you anywhere, expect maybe get your idea ripped off by some of the better marketeers who are on this board.

Wow so how can I get this post deleted

Don't worry, your idea is likely too shitty to attract the attention of anyone who could make something work.

Just trying to explain to you why you are being ridiculed. BTW, we have a n00b section for a reason: so that noobs can post there and be ignored without getting in the way of our gay webmaster communication.
