I own niche websites with a high-strung backend (mostly arbitrage). Our top converting campaign this month is for the Sea-Monkeys brand. Spent a little over $500,000 doing Sea-Monkeys (special-interest) media buys to ensure good quality leads for the advertiser. Made 1.7 million (what I'm owed). Thought I was about to be a millionaire...
Here's how HBWA affiliate manager, Abdiel Simmons, spoke to me:
Me: "Abdiel, we've been waiting for the check for one week now."
Abdiel: "We're working direct with Sea-Monkeys."
Me: "Where's the check, Abdiel?"
Abdiel: "Sea-Monkeys closed." [HANGS UP the phone! WTF?!]
I made numerous contact attempts in the week prior and can't help but feel avoided.
WTF am I supposed to do now? Go on welfare??
How can I pay my traffic costs when my credit cards are maxed out! This should be a profitable campaign.
Should I try to take HBWA to court and maybe see if I can get Sea-Monkeys to pay the bills?
