Experienced SEOs Wanted

As others have said, all the best SEOs are going to be self employed. You'd really have to incentivize someone to go work for you. I doubt anyone here would work for someone else for anything less than 100k, and even then the best on here are making far more than that. You'd need to offer some kind of profit sharing.

Not necessarily true... some (in fact most) people just don't like being self-employed. Although agree that WF probably has a much lower proportion of those people. I'd think the conference circuit/LinkedIn is probably better.

This in right neighbourhood (and more) for remuneration for the right people.
Compensation is relevant to skill level, abilities, and experience.

Markus I respect you for all you've done but I agree with other posters here. You're asking for someone that really knows their seo game. But anyone with that kind of experience is going to want to work for themselves. The only people that would take your offer are seos that don't make enough $$$ for themselves.

Basically your asking for the best ppl to work for you but the only people that would actually work for you are ppl that are underqualified.

I think if you really wanted a great seo guy you'd have to offer more or a JV position with some kind of vested interest. Besides that I don't think WF is the place to hire ppl like this.

Well it's not your decision to make now is it? You don't catch fish by sitting in your arm chair!

We already have an office in India. The work over there is obviously cheaper, but often sub par as many rely on an outdated approach (submissions, etc) that just don't cut it in more competitive markets. Of course there are exceptions, and sometimes suitable in a certain capacity, but not in this case.

We're after people that can take ownership and hit the ground running. We're not an agency, this is for in-house work.

We've been advertising in the bay area and nyc in the past and have been speaking with a few candidates that have worked with big banks and other markets.

headiez247, I disagree. Just because someone has 5 years experience doesn't ensure success. And some might like the security of a regular paycheck in addition to what they have on the side, on the opportunity to work on big projects beyond white label or affiliate sites.

Qualified individuals would likely be compensated similar to or above what is suggested as current standards for an seo salary. But it's all relevant to experience and what you bring.

Thanks for input Ly, with your dogpile experience there could be something for you if you can relocate to India.

wow so according to seomoz a LEAD SEO starts at only 50k... SHIT

SEO is a weird ass field when it comes to finding people to hire. Because of the niche there is very very little overhead for good SEO people to go out and start their own shit. Because of that it is nearly impossible to find a *good* SEO to come work for you for straight salary. Seems like you'd have to offer some small percentage of ownership of the company or product, even then I dunno...

That being said, I recently took a salary job in Denver for $100k a year. But the dude allows me a lot of things:

  • come in and leave when i want
  • own office
  • i work on my own shit and clients shit out of my office
  • also gave Amanda a job

Everyone else wears ties and shit to work...I roll in at like noon with sweatpants on. The people in the office always ask Amanda "why the fuck is he allowed to do this and that dirka dirka dirka"

Your perks would certainly make it more tempting for me, but it would need to be significantly more than 100k. I can totally understand why people want it to be in house, but I've just gotten way too spoiled by being able to work when and where I want.

honestly though, not much has changed since I took the job. at first i really hated going into the office but honestly, I do get a lot more work done being there. when I worked from home I literally spent like 80% of my waking hours playing video games and watching TV.

I hate you, dude. So jelly.

I'm very good at SEO. have ranked multiple sites on the 1st page for the past 10 years. However Im insecure about myself, have not much of a social life and have a small cock. Can you still hire me?

Same here. Hated the transition to working in the office, but it has really worked out well. Now, I get lots of stuff done and my SEO skills are for superior to what they were.
