All The Adderall Talk In Here

VERY interesting, you have any sources that back this claim up?

In my experience regular sustained meditation soon leads to a greater understanding of that's causing the sleep problems or stress which makes it easier for them to be fixed at source.

Honeybadger does it natural. Honeybadger knows best.

Seriously, you want to feel like a god? Start lifting weights, and push yourself until you can't lift anymore. Work out big muscles like your legs and abs, get that fucking blood flowing. You might be sore, but damn you feel like a fucking god.

That worked for me for a little while - until I got hooked on working out. I ended up doing nothing but lazing about and eating until it was time to go to the gym, then I'd be too knackered afterwards to think about work.

But up until I went overboard on it, it did work wonders. So yeah, exercise + hydration > prescription meds.

This... I meditated pretty solidly for 2 years, but fell out of the habit when my kid was born. I'm still feeling the benefits 2 years later, much better control of my emotions (I used to be a rage-o-holic, but not any more), better concentration and far fewer sleep problems. All because I know how to navigate my brain better.

It's definitely worth doing... it has NO drawbacks, and I don't know anybody who's done it for a sustained period who doesn't think it's great. You don't have to do it for long either, I just sat for 10 mins a day. Frequency is more important than length imo.

I don't know why they don't teach it to kids in schools instead of doling out drugs. Oh wait a minute, yes I do. $$$. :costumed-smiley-013

Using Adderall to be successful in business is like using Viagra to break into the porn industry.

EDIT - it would be genuinely interesting to conduct a longitudinal study on how people get on with adderall to help their business over the long term. There are probably enough users on this board to constitute a decent cohort.
/me waves.
Longterm adderall user here. My dose is lower than it used to be, but I still take it every work day.
Things are only getting better :zzwhip:

I have been taking this for quite some time now. It is great to help me focus and not try to multi task too much. But intake alot less than I am prescribed. I just don't think I need a full 20mg. So I usually take 5 per day an 10 I have alot to do. Rarely do I ever take twice in one day though. Just in the morning. Also I took the time released ones for awhile and they were awful! Not only very expensive but way too strong. Appetite suppression is not a good thing with these products. Don't forget to eat :)

Yeah same here... I'm prescribed 60mg per day, but typically only take 20mg-40mg per day now. Instant release only.

I used to take WAY more. But got serious and decided I didn't need to be THAT focused all the time. I do take it everyday, for at least three of the five years now.

Although I've recommended it to so many people in this industry... and still do sometimes... I must admit, if you don't absolutely need it, don't even bother starting. While its great in the first two years even, you begin to notice the side effects, especially the longer term ones, and the worst part of all, is your dependency on the stuff.

I'm sure many other Adderall prescribed patients here can tell you of similar horror stories of how mindfucked you become when you run out of your meds, and will stop at almost nothing to get more. Typically by day 3. Its scary.

But then again, when you choose to go off of it, and its a decision on your own part, its way easier to break away from its grip. However, you should definitely ween yourself off the stuff to make it easier. Also... pick a side. Either stay on it, or don't.

And please... stop snorting and mixing it for recreational purposes. You're just fucking shit up for everyone. There are so many other things in the world to do that with, use those instead if you're that kind of retard.

Why instant release only?
Right now my prescription is for 40mg/day time release, but I take 10-20mg because 40 will fuck with your head after taking it too long.

adderall is amphetamines, very close to meth actually:

Interesting. I'm on day 1 of a stimulant detox - probably until 2012. I was up to 500mg/day of caffeine, not sleeping right, and a bit irritable. Yesterday I weened off at 150mg, today I'm done.

I'm taking rhodiola, piracetam, choline, N Acetyl Tyrosine, and Schizandra extract to keep me halfway productive. And lots of naps, green veggies, protein, and keep exercising.

I got a huge project starting soon. Probably going to try very low dosage of addies at some point next year, but we'll see.

Regarding the shriveled dick thing... it's called "stim dick". Most amphetamine-like stimulants are vasoconstrictors, I believe. That means that they constrict blood vessels and blood flow, especially to your lil guy. I've never had that problem, but I've only taken caffeine and 1,3 dimethylamylamine.

If you were up to 500mg/day of caffeine sometimes the withdrawl can stay 2-3 days (at least it did for me - I was 500-750/day) - just giving you a heads up in case when you go completely off of it, it doesn't hit you like a rock to the head.

@Russ86,
Some studies that talk about the effects of meditation on the brain are listed below. Figuring out how to calm your mind and better navigate through it can do soooooo much for your mental health and even physical health. Anywho, the first one talks a bit about dopamine, and the second talks more about the overall effects on the brain.

Increased dopamine tone during medi... [Brain Res Cogn Brain Res. 2002] - PubMed - NCBI

Meditation and the Brain

This is easier said than done however. For someone like myself who is ADD as fuck, meditating can be difficult at first. But just like anything else, through practice, we can become experts at it. I remember reading an article that talked about eastern asian monks that had large amounts of activity (dopamine) in the frontal lobes due strictly to meditation, but couldn't find it. If I find it I will post it up here.

I've always been able to control my usage of addies...do I enjoy it? Yes. Do I abuse it? Well if that means not having a script...then yes. But I feel like I am responsible with it and have done some beautiful work as well - the type of shit that doesn't get done with a cup of joe in the morning.

another thing that helps with focus, practicing dual n-back tests.

Studies have shown it increases your IQ and working memory as well.

If my normal mental state was the same as it was when I was peaking on Adderrall, I truly believe that I would be a multi-billionaire and probably president one day.

so what you are saying is if your natural state was one that barely required to eat or sleep and gave you intense energy and focus you would be kicking ass.

O RLY?
