Critique my site

Hi Ramtin,

Here's my first instinct when I get to your site...

You have no unique selling proposition (USP). Why would people buy from you when they could buy from Future Shop? You hint that you help people save time by showing them which is the best product in each category ...you need to explain why that's important (with great copy).

Your site is called TodaysTechDeals... focus on that! Your name implies that each day you have a special or 'hot' deal. Perhaps use sliders on the homepage to showcase one of those deals. If you focus on too many things you're going to do a lot of things poorly. Maybe aim to sell one product everyday for a SICK price that people will feel SAD if they miss out on that deal.

Think about the market you are competing in. You are trying to catch people while they are in the 'research' stage of buying. And the ONLY reason people would buy from you instead of the big guys is if you are cheaper.

As a nobody you need to focus on ONE thing and do it better than everybody else. Then once you become an authority on that one thing and become a credible source, expand your funnel and start branching out.

Hope that helps!

Hey thanks a lot for that advice!

Here's my plan as of right now:

1) Hire a professional web designer to make the site look professional, like a livingsocial or a groupon.

2) Have various deals every day, but have a "featured" deal every day that is really good

3) Incorporate all the little suggestions that people have given me on here.

4) Add a section where people can read reviews, compare prices, etc... I need to write a script to read RSS feeds automatically to do that, so I hope that's not too much work.

5) Make the site searchable, and also allows users to rank deals, a la reddit.

The site decide.com just came out and basically blows my site out of the water.

Wise Decision !!!

Do you mind if I swipe it, I think I can use it for something else better than for what you're doing....

It's pretty 1990ish. Your concept is ok...but damn bro...hire a designer.

Add more depth to the site man. You just need more to do, and a updated design.

Hit me up if you need design help.

this is missing 1 important key piece

at the very top you need to add:
<meta name=”robots” content=”noindex, nofollow”>

This will help the Googles and Bings crawl your site and index everything.

Oh, and I plan on taking out the Adsense Ad. I just put that in there to get my pagerank up.
You shouldn't have outed this but since the damage is already done:

I usually put on 6 adsense units on my sites and keep refreshing it. I'm getting a PR5 with this method, sometimes even a PR6. Just make sure to refresh it approx. 1000-2000 times a day.

If the PR stayed at N/A or 0 make sure to increase the daily refreshs to 3000-5000 a day. Pro tip: Buy a professional mouse for faster clicking and refreshing:

So guys if I add adsense to my adsense site I get higher PR/

That's real funny, I know the name of a comedy booker if you need one.

Notes from a few seconds check on your website.

I haven't checked the content and all but in I think you need to put more of those in your website. There's a css error on the sidebar single page too. I'm not so sure about the choice of colors too... but before I go any further, just want kind of criticism are you after anyway? SEO? Content? Web Design?

:)
