Just because it's a fad doesn't mean it's a requirement.

No one forced them to go to college. No one forced them to go to the highest school they could go to. No one guarantee'd them a job after college.

"But I need to go to college" No, you don't. Maybe you NEED to go to college ... in 3 years when you can afford it more?

anyone know the cms that site is using?

its very minimal and i like it!

Looks like html, css and a little bit of javascript. A lot of your hippie designers are into that these days.

College education is a common good. Society needs people to be educated to at least a minimal level to function. That threshold has continued to rise as time passes.

Do you have the right to rack up 400k in loans on my dime? Nope, but I'll send you to a state school or a trade school if you can hack it.

Winter is coming you lazy bitches!!!!

haha so true... since i work near wall st. and see these peeps everyday might be an opportunity to profit:

if everyone gets a college education degrees become even more worthless than they already are.

The fact that it's become so accessible is the reason the price has gone up so much and the degrees people get are basically the 1970's equivalent of a high school diploma.

I say basic education up to grade 12 should be a human right. But college education is not a human right, however without college education you reduce greatly your chances of getting a high paying job.

LOL @ how their "list of demands" said "They" constantly without ANY reference to any specific groups or people LOL

Your drive and motivation create your chances of getting a high paying job...Mainstream college is for the people with little drive and motivation and just follow what they're told is best.

Most of the world thinks it should be, if the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights treaty is anything to go by. A majority of countries in the world have signed and ratified it (the US has signed but not ratified).

Article 13 of the Covenant recognises the right of everyone to free education (free for the primary level and "the progressive introduction of free education" for the secondary and higher levels).
Do I personally think it's a worthy goal for humanity? I do. But the question, as phrased, is, is a college education a human right? And the answer would have to be, by and large, not yet.

1. No. The whole notion of "human rights" or "basic human rights" puzzles me. If anything, I think the primary human right is freedom from slavery.

2. I'm of the belief that all education should be privatized.

3. this ...

cant believe no one asked yet. Who is that first chick?
