Here is something, I have been wanting to give affiliate marketing a chance. But I have some reservations that are stopping me to proceed.

1. 2 years ago, I tried Click Bank. I had three blogs from blogger with banners from products sold in Click Bank. I wrote a review post about the product, submit an article to article directory. I did it like for 1 week but I gave up.

It seems that I had spent most of my time trying to come up with good means on how to hit the first sale, etc. But I failed.

2. I have been a freelance writer, data entry encoder, virtual assistant, project manager for the past 6 years or so. I must say, earning online is my bread and butter. But I want to divert my skills and maybe try affiliate marketing once again.

3. I was so overwhelmed as to the amount of money others are claiming that they earn on affiliate marketing. I am starting to wonder if indeed they are true or some just want to brag a bit to boost up their ego.

I am new to WF. My client told me to join this site and I am glad I did. Although, I have noticed there are some who often post threads putting a lot of "shit" on their threads. But getting the hang of it though.

Now my dear friends in WF, do you think after all these years it is still worth for me hop into the band wagon and join affiliate marketing? Suggestions are very much welcome.

If you can suggest methods which I do not need to spend money on it (I know this is impossible but for a starter like me who does not have much funds) maybe you can give cool advices. Or perhaps maybe you could give me a brief estimate as how much would it cost.

I do appreciate you guys who take time to read my post and share golden tips that make you get your first sale in affiliate marketing:)

Well, that was your problem. You only had 3 blogs, instead of 4.

If you had 4, then you would have been making some serious coin.

OP,
You definitely seem like a faggot. But since we are open and accepting, as well as the official Gay Webmaster Forum I'm not going to trick you into clicking a link with a spinning penis.

Here's what you want to do:
1. Go to the Newbies section and READ THE STICKIES
2. Once you've read the stickies, read in the Affiliate Marketing Section
3. Form a relationship with an affiliate marketing network. You'll probably be with a shit company to start, but deal with it.
4. Tell them up-front you're new to this, and ask for advice on what campaigns are profitable, what methods people are using to generate traffic (Affiliate managers sing like canaries)
5. Do what you read
6. Lose lots of money
7. Learn
8. Repeat applying lessons learned
9. ???
10. Profit
11. PayPal me 10% of your REVENUES for taking 5 minutes from my day to write this fucking post.

PS: Affiliate marketing is dead, you should probably just join Amway.

Welcome to WF!

First off: read the rules of the forum in the stickied threads on the frontpage.

Second: Don't bring a bunch a shit on yourself by baiting people about the amount of 'shit' they talk.

Third: Keep a low profile. If you have a question, use the search function.

Fourth: Go into the noob section of this forum and read EVERY stickied thread.

Fifth: Start a site for a low competition keyword and try to rank for it. See what works, what doesn't work and why. Or you can even create your own 'made up' keywords, use a dozen different sites and experiment on what works and what doesn't. LEARN

Sixth: Keep a low profile. Ask intelligent question (meaning use google or the search function in this forum FIRST) in the noob forum. If they are advanced use one of the others.

Seventh: Read, read, read and then experiment... find out who the intelligent posters are on this board and follow THEIR advice... (dchuck, Guerilla, grindstone, eliquid, BoFu, Jon, etc.)

Eight: Start some kind of a service to 'finance' your work. Write articles? Manually create web2.0 sites, etc etc....

Ninth: Go to the noob section and start there...

for advertising, i always use internet only because every one is connected by internet.

Thank you so much for being so kind and not use harsh words on me. This is one of the best advice that I have read so far. I could not thank you enough. If there is any way that I can help you with I would be glad to help you.

I would follow every step that you have narrated here especially #7 as you narrated which members here in WF I should follow and read their advices. I have read the rules I have no intention on disobeying them. I just want to know more about affiliate marketing. Just want to make sure that I am on the right track. It is kind of broad topic and avenue of earning money. Too much stuff have been posted here and on the Internet I want to start all over again with the right attitude.

Also, thank you for welcoming me. It means so much to me.

@ everyone who posted their comments and some answers, thank you for taking your time to post. I just hope there are still people out there who are so kind like Gertex.

I think someone hacked Dwight Schrute's account.

fastwriter, you seem like a very nice person, and a hard worker. Affiliate marketing is overwhelming at first, but if you can learn to master Google, you can do well for yourself. Read through this tutorial and focus on steps 4-12, as they are really good, but take some practice. Best of luck to you
