The quote, 'A dingo took my baby' comes from the multi award-winning movie, 'A Cry in the Dark', directed by Fred Schepisi and starring Meryl Streep as Lindy Chamberlain and Sam Neill as Michael Chamberlain. The movie is based on the true story of Lindy and Michael Chamberlain whose baby, Azaria, disappeared on August 17, 1980, from the family's campsite in the desert at Uluru - a place sacred to the indigenous people of the area - in the Australian Northern Territory near Alice Springs. Azaria's body was never recovered.
The Chamberlains were tried for the murder of their daughter who, the defense claimed, had been taken by an Australian native dog, a dingo, common to the area. The movie was based on John Bryson's book about these events, 'Evil Angels', and was originally released in Australia under that title.
Lindy Chamberlain wasn't believed when she claimed a dingo had taken her baby. She was found guilty of murder in October 29, 1982, and sentenced to life imprisonment with hard labor. Michael was found guilty as an accessory after the fact; his sentence was deferred.
On February 7, 1986, Lindy was released from prison following the discovery of new evidence: a British hiker, David Brett, was killed in January 1986 in a fall at Uluru; investigating police, searching the area for remains which they feared might have been taken by dingos, found Azaria's missing jacket. This unquestionably proved Lindy Chamberlain's innocence and, on September 15, 1988, all convictions against the Chamberlains were quashed by the Northern Territory Court of Criminal Appeals.

I watch Seinfeld daily too, an episode or two before I go to bed. Watch every episode in order from Season 1 and then go back when I am finished and watch again. Comedy gold!!
George Costanza is probably the best comedy character ever in my opinion. Followed closely by his father (played by Ben Stiller's dad for anyone who didn't know)

I never really understood why people liked seinfield. i could never get into it. The humor is just so... meh. If you wanna call that humor. Its like jerry seinfields stand up. Its meh. no infact it sucks.

It's also a play on the fact that a lot of people know very little about Australia except that story/move. It's like saying "have a cup of tea and a crumpet" to an English person. The joke is only funny in the fact that if you are on the outside you realize how ignorant and rude it really is. It's like taking the piss out of someone from the US using columbine as the theme or someone from the UK using James Bulger as the theme.
I find it funny as I don't think that the writers are aware of how offensive and bad taste the joke is, but I doubt they were thinking that.
It's something you have to watch quite a bit of to really get. You have to really get to know the characters to see the real humor. Most people probably enjoy it for Kramer slamming through Jerry's door and making stupid faces, which is a bit childish and puerile, but the real humor is in the moral sickness of the characters and their very broken ways of living their lives.
I would really advise you to try and watch a few episodes again to see if you change your mind, as there is so much comedy gold there. To be honest you are better off watching the later seasons as the writing is honed down to a fine art in them.
I also don't like Seinfeld's stand up (including at the start of the episodes), but the show is different and has so much of Larry David in it that it kind of cancels that stuff out.
