Apparently the mayor of Florence just layeth the smacketh down on the JS cast, who plans on filming Season 4 in Florence.

The mayor of Florence, Matteo Renzi, has made a list of rules that Snooki & Co. will have to follow while they are “on the other side” of the Atlantic.

The rules, listed in the Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera, are:
  • The cast will not be filmed in bars and clubs that serve alcohol.
  • The cast will not be filmed drinking in public.
  • The show will not be filmed to promote Florence as a drinking town.
  • The show should be filmed in a manner to promote Italy (not Americans visiting Italy) and feature it’s culture and good food.

In addition to these strict guidelines, Renzi has banned the show from filming in the city’s historic buildings, but admitted that he “could not ban them from using the city (Florence) as a set.”

They should just film in Rome or something. Not being able to drink in public? I'm not sure I want to watch a sober Snooki waddle her way around the streets of Florence.
 


Haha the last part is the best, "I'm not sure I want to watch a sober Snooki waddle her way around the streets of Florence." MTV will obviously not do the show there if they cannot film them drinking in bars and clubs, as well as drinking in public.

I have friends who have similar opinions regarding Florence. Some love it, some hate it. Some think you might as well go to Little Italy in NYC and save yourself some $. I haven't been there before, so I can't really say. Maybe one day...

I liked Florence over Rome. They both have the history and culture going for them but Rome seemed like more North African immigrants working the tourists vs. Florence where everything was more laid back, people were nicer and the food was better.

I'm surprised these idiots even accepted Italy as a filming location. Considering they are making a complete mockery of the Italian culture, I wouldn't surprised if some Italian dudes don't roll up and either beat the shit out of them or shoot them in the face.
 
with so much better shows to watch, why the fuck would anyone waste their time with this shit?
 
^^This. It's difficult to understand why seemingly intelligent people like some posting here bother with this. I thought Jersey Shore was a show about retards watched by retards to make said retards feel better about not being as retarded as the retards on Jersey Shore.
